Isn’t Buc-ees the company that’s suing small businesses over cartoon logos they’ve had since before Buc-ees existed?
I’ll never step foot in one.
Yeah, and they’ve gotten themselves into a beef with Beavercreek OH over it.
Personally, I’m glad they won’t be coming to my state
So small businesses in blue states with beavers as part of their logo won’t have to worry about getting sued? Sounds good to me.
I remember when Buc-ees came to my state and everyone went “Hell, yeah, I’ll work at a gas station for $22/hr!” Pretty soon, word got around that you’re not even supposed to sit on your breaks. The people enthusiastically screaming “Fresh brisket on the board!!” Rapidly gave way to a tone that said “I am contractually obligated to say ‘Fresh brisket on the board’ at an at least mildly elevated volume.”
Still, I’m surprised by this story. The pay made a hell of a first impression, and the sitting thing made me think some kind of weird religious kink, but overtly political messaging was not something I expected. I’m just so used to “Fuckin’ burger-flippers want $15 an hour, you b’lieve ‘at?!” that Republicans never crossed my mind.
Buc-ee’s ain’t nothing but a tacky 30 year too late knock-off of Sheetz but with worse ownership.
Is it really a bad thing that a company that decides to be political, will for political reasons cut themselves out from around 50% of the market?
I only wish more Fascists torpedoed themselves like that.
"I just need some shit I could get at 7eleven, but I really want the inconvenience of an old fashioned trip to the mall. I know… Sheetz! Or Bucees! Or Pilot! Or FlyingJ!
Hey, sheetz has good gas prices and seems to pay their employees well.
MTO is way better than fast food at about the same price point, as well
Well I guess I’m boycotting that business too except to use the restroom because let’s face it, they’re cleaner than most any other business.
Wear your politics on your sleeve and I’ll vote with my wallet.
Now, if we could only get a dozen other companies to take the same stance.
For instance, Chick-fil-A outlets, to me, only occupy space and feed junk food to my neighbors. Given the Christian nationalist stance of their upper management and support of anti-LGBT+ activism, they’re really not a good fit for California.
Or any state that respects its own public.
Don’t forget Hobby Lobby.
Fuck Hobby Lobby. We lost Jo-Anne Fabrics but still have Michael’s, and I don’t think they’re on the boycott list.
Yeah, America is going the sh*^#er. And it’s all because of the communists complaining about minimum wages, bathroom breaks and company health insurance.
/s obviously
Isn’t buc-ees doing the cultural barrier?
Whatever, Buc. Fuck you too.
As someone in a blue state, am I missing anything from then not being here?
Have you ever walked into a gas station and thought, “man, I really wish this was the size of a Walmart and filled with cheap trinkets ala FiveBelow but beaver themed, had children running everywhere, and mediocre bbq”?
They do have amazing bathrooms but it seems I never time it right.
What do you mean? My red state has a giant horseshoe and…a couple theme parks I think?
Good, don’t need those in WA. lawsuit happy fucks.
i feel the same way about heb, but have no evidence to justify that
The opposite with HEB, they give to blue causes and candidates
good to know
