Prediction: The “this is the last election” theme will be trumpeted everywhere in the media, and the voters will come out again and elect Democrats to fight the Republican scourge, and the Democrats will win! There will be much rejoicing as Good triumphs over Evil (barely! The Rs almost stole it!).

Trump and his family will then leave the White House many billions richer, and the Democratic President will “try” to pass universal healthcare and fail, and will “try” to increase minimum to $15 an hour and fail, and will “try” to increase taxes on billionaires and fail. They will fret over the nuclear option and there will be some talk of using it, but alas, it’s too dangerous! Those darn Republicans!

The voters, disgusted with the incompetence, will turn to their only alternative, and the Republicans will take the White House again.

    … and so on.

It has been this way for over 50 years

No, despite the record turnout and majority votes for Dems, the Republicans will win. Everyone will understand what happened.

A bunch of civil unrest will follow, but it will be unorganized. Things will be a bit crazy for awhile, but eventually most of the demonstrators will be quashed, imprisoned, disappeared, or worse (and Trump regime will want everyone to know and believe the worst is happening). The Trump gestapo (ICE) will have gained training and more funding from the GOP traitors, so that even an organized uprising that may finally be formed will also be easily quashed.

This doesn’t have to be our future. But it’s scary how plausible it feels.

This is stood out to me specifically (from the last link):

The unit most responsible for overseeing election crime investigations has been gutted.

The people who still will not admit that Trump lost in 2020 are just ok with completely dismantling the unit overseeing election crime investigations.

      Makes sense.

It’s really feeling like there needs to be a revolution.

The government is thoroughly polluted: all the levers greased and bent, and the halls, that haven’t been stripped for spare change, packed full of fascists and incompetents whose foul touch has malformed the remaining seats. We’ve seen how easy it is stall progress when pursuing existing legislative and judicial pathways, that the possibility of seeing these deletorious perversions of the government reversed and fixed would likely take longer than just building a new constitution from scratch with proper provisions builtin.

To be fair, it seems like it’s been all radical centrists doing the shooting so far.

Not sure if that’s something the left should be ashamed of though.

Is it possible to be a radical centralist that sort of seems like a contradiction in terms.

I feel like the spirit behind the term is something closer to “radical status quoists” but that has about as much bite as a two hour old kitten, also it’s annoyingly wordy too many syllables absolutely no flow between words.

more like “refusing to vote for the appointed candidate I accepted meant Trump came in, so I consider anyone critical of the center to be a Trump supporter and will kill them all”.

To be fair, that’s utter tripe. Not one of the shooters has been a “radical centrist”.

It will be incredibly incompetently pulled off. There’ll be a car bomb that will only result in the car catching fire because it turns out gasoline isn’t actually that explosive, or the bomb will detonate at midnight rather than midday because they don’t understand 24-hour clocks, it will not work at all because they got the instructions from Grok.

They might just fake a bio weapons attack but the big problem with that is once it’s proven that it’s a fraud there won’t be any justification anymore. So they will need to do some actual damage to something.

I’m sure there is enough money to be made to pay someone competent enough to act and keep quiet afterwards.

An incident wouldn’t need to be big for an excuse to start the cancellations of elections.

If you find somebody on their group capable of hiring somebody competent…

Or keeping quiet about that hiring.

Anyway, the GP is a huge throwback to the CIA intervention in Brazil in the 1960s. It’s almost a description of it. Or of the people asking them to intervene again nowadays.

Also defunded the center for Internet security, which helps protect election offices from cyber threats and forced them to start charging an annual fee for membership.

There also used to be a dedicated information sharing center for elections through homeland security that got mostly cancelled and rolled into their general services.

These updates seemed like a call to action at first, but now they feel like a means to psychologically accept what’s happening. 350 million people in this country and there’s effectively no opposition to a senile fascist fuck-up taking permanent control. None of this is okay or tenable. Americans can’t afford to keep waiting for him to croak, especially since he has capable fascists in line behind him.

I mean wasn’t his whole shtick to his fanbase, still troubling that a president has a fanbase, that the last election was stolen so he was going to put in checks and protections against election fraud etc.

They must be very pissed about this news
