Yesterday on boost it was 503-ing like it had a head office.
Lemmy.world was down. Instance was having server issues I think
I really need to find a similar enough server to put an alt on
I never even bothered finding a good instance when signing up, just took the first one after searching for security and everything has always worked perfectly
sh.itjust.works is a good option. Based in CA and run on green energy.
Alternatively make a Piefed account and try it out.
Main instance for that is piefed.social, and there’s Piefed.world run by the same team as Lemmy.world, but different instance admins I believe.
Any time Lemmy.world goes down, I get reminded I should check my sh.itjust.works notifications more often when looking at months old replies to comments I made the last time it was down when I wanted to use it.

Yep, I keep a couple guest accounts setup on other servers when it goes down so I can just grab my memes elsewhere in the meantime.

Nice thing is you can make an alt on a different instance for times like this, or to just try out a different instance.
For example sh.itjust.works is a great Lemmy instance based out of Canada that uses 100% renewable energy. There’s lots of other great instances out there too.
