Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel “has no choice but to finish the job and complete the defeat of Hamas.”
He is speaking to foreign media in Jerusalem and defending a planned military offensive. He asserts that “our goal is not to occupy Gaza, our goal is to free Gaza.” He is also pushing back against what he calls a “global campaign of lies” as condemnation of the plan grows both inside and outside Israel.

That’s not just ridiculously obviously a lie - it’s provably a lie.
Israel has already struck a deal with Egypt to sell natural gas from deposits in Gazan territorial waters. Therefore it must be the case that Israel is already planning on not only occupying but annexing Gaza - they could not claim ownership of those gas deposits otherwise.
The only reason Hamas exists is Bibi fundraising for it and smuggling literal suitcases full of cash to them…
