      Just gonna note that Iran isn’t committing or trying to commit genocide anywhere. They’re assholes, but their level of assholery is like an order of magnitude less than that.

        I’d argue that what happened right after Islamic revolution back in '81-82 was going really close to genocide, with all that “purification from non-Islamic elements”. And “non-Islamic” in Middle East almost always means some cultural minority.

            Exactly in years mentioned there most notable example would be Bahais - largest non-Muslim minority in Iran. What was done to them? - well, they were being killed, although I won’t be able to point exact ratio in overall number of victims in that massacre (~2500), but massacre was generally directed at minorities.

            While Iran is an asshole and regularly gets its own people regularly disappeared or executed for any signs of dissent - minorities are targeted disproportionately, be it Kurds, Arabs or Baluchis, with 2022 riots, for example, being situated mainly in Kurdish regions.
