Hey, no need to hurry with these pointless (in short term) actions. I’m sure palestians won’t mind another month of genocide to be recognized which will change exactly nothing for them.

Again, all these countries will recognise it in September because that’s when they can make it official at the UN. It’s not delayed because fun.

And again, this small decision doesn’t exonerate them from taking other ones until then.

This is a good thing and shitting on it is what is pointless.

Shit on the governments for not taking other actions, not for taking this one.

But the government is distracting public with such actions. Let me put it like this: Imagine your house is on fire, a fireman, which provided and provides fuel to the arsonist, strolls by and tells you that by next week they will pour a glass of water on your house.

This announcement is de facto recognising a Palestinian state, they will have to wait until September to de jure recognise the state (thankyou CK2 for explaining that distinction.)

That’s a terrible comparison. I get your point, and as I said, you can shit on them for selling weapons, you can shit on them for not doing anything to stop the genocide.

But shitting on them for making the decision to recognise the state of Palestine is like shitting on the government for increasing the budget of the fire department, because it’s not helping your house burning down right now.

It’s a pacifier for people like you, you get to relax and say look they’re finally doing something, but they’re doing nothing of value. Palestinians don’t want a state on the ruins of Gaza or the ghettos that remain in the West Bank, we want a free Palestine from the river to the sea, for all regardless is religion.

Anything short of fully dismantling the occupation, reparations, and the right of return for all the refugees that want to return is just the current situation with extra steps.

It really feels like none of you read any of my comments.

Never have I said it’s enough, or that they shouldn’t do more.

All I’m saying is, recognising the state of Palestine is a good thing.

Stop putting words in my mouth, and read.

Asking palestinians to disarm without any guarentee to stop isrsel occupation is so ridiculous and dangerous. We won’t fall from western propaganda like you

I am arguying the idea that conditional recognition of palestine is possible. The conditions onñy help israel occupation and hurt palestinians rights like the right for an army to protect itself

I still don’t know what you’re talking about. Countries are going to recognise the state of Palestine in September, they’re not expecting anything for it.

The PA made commitments themselves. And they’re not exactly heavily militarized anyway.
