i actually went to one of these hoping against hope that i’d find some potential co-conspirators in my dark red neck of the woods who might want to do mutual aid. it was such a let down. as expected, just a lot of liberals (and maybe a “compassionate conservative” or two) focused on trump. not a single one seemed even remotely interested in interrogating the system that put him in power. just a completely toothless action and a total waste of time. 0/0 stars.

Interesting. A lot of leftist orgs came to the ones in my area. The DSA specifically was there signing people up for their mutual aid program. Maybe it was a geographic issue.

Ones I attended in working class neighborhoods had booths with mutual aid orgs, legal aid societies, unions reps and more. One in upper middle class neighborhood had nothing but mostly white boomers who seemed to be cosplaying a 60’s protest. YMMV

If the oligarchy and cops support your ‘protest,’ its not a protest, its a fucking pressure release value, and the oligarchy appreciates your cooperation in keeping them in power with no fundamental change
