He should have looked online. There are some good tutorials out there.

Pro tip: It’s still a puzzle if you take it apart and put it back together in the right order. Just a different type of puzzle lol.
(Taking the stickers off and rearranging them is still cheating though).
I like puzzles and games.
Deciding which ones I am going to pursue and which I’m going to ignore is an interesting way to examine myself.
Tried and dropped the Cube early on. Recently tried Pips, stopped after I saw that I was just annoying myself.
Don’t try the square one, whatever you do.
I messed up the algs so much for SQ1, I pretty much had to have the moves pulled up.
I’d say ghost cube is pretty wild, if you go in blind. Once you figure it out, it’s pretty fun.

We brought in a working interview years ago because the guy had “Can solve a rubik’s cube in under a minute” on his resume. He even brought one. He did it in about a minute and a half. We hired him anyway. He’s now our production manager.
Not bad IMO.
I mean it’s not an easy task.
I tried my very best, but was only able to work out the first two layers. I knew that there had to be certain combinations of moves to move pieces around, but I could not for the life of me figure out how to even begin. Eventually I turned to Ruwix, and am now pretty good. I’m impressed he cracked it in such a short time frame. It was a completely new design, with no roadmap or strategy known.
But yeah it does make for a silly headline, to the layman.

to be fair it was like 16 hours and then like eff this and then an odd hour here and there after a few days until he was real close and then like 30 hours straigt but really EFF THIS and then more days and got back and oh that was it and done.
