The NYC E-Vehicle Safety Alliance is calling on lawmakers to pass what’s known as “Priscilla’s Law,” legislation that would require certain e-bikes, scooters and other electric vehicles to be licensed, registered and to display a visible plate.
It just got passed this year, and doesn’t take effect until July. So we’ll see how enforceable it is. My guess is any e-bike that looks like a normal bike can probably get away with it, but will be subject to a fine if caught without registration. Since this hinges on cops a) caring and b) being able to differentiate an e-bike from a standard bike.

Time for stealth ebikes and regular bikes that look like ebikes just to confuse them.
