xorollo@leminal.spaceto Work Reform@lemmy.world•Young men are struggling in a slowing job market, even if they have college degrees2·3 days agoI have personal experience with a similar situation. I was told that others without a degree needed the position more. I suppose they thought I would surely get a better job elsewhere and they would be working to train and hire somebody new soon.
Gotta protect the babies online footprint.
xorollo@leminal.spaceto Technology@lemmy.world•Spotify to raise prices in SeptemberEnglish1·6 days agoUgh, yeah I haven’t considered that. We do have prime, but we’re really close to getting rid of it. We don’t watch Prime Video because it feels ridiculous to navigate and everything seems like an addon they want you to pay more for. I’d assume music is similar.
xorollo@leminal.spaceto Technology@lemmy.world•Spotify to raise prices in SeptemberEnglish1·6 days agoNeat tool, but this wouldn’t work for my whole family.
xorollo@leminal.spaceto Technology@lemmy.world•Spotify to raise prices in SeptemberEnglish11·7 days agoI’m going to need a free (ads ok) option that I can try a little bit before I switch the whole family plan over. I tried downloading tidal and another one a little while back, and they didn’t last for long. One I couldn’t test without a subscription. I don’t remember the problem with another. I’m strictly in the convenience camp with this one folks. I just want to press play, I don’t have time to think about music otherwise.
xorollo@leminal.spaceto Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•On average, we sleep 8 hours a day; I’m 48, and have slept for 16 years.26·8 days agoA lot of these numbers cancel each other our, so you’re left with 8 hours/24 hours * Age. 8/24 is 1/3 so it simplifies to Age/3. That’s the number of years we have all slept. A 3 year old has slept for 1 year!
Actually, the 3 yo has probably slept for more than that time since babies sleep so much.

Do 20 squats in front of it, and it prints you a free bus ticket.3·15 days agoYep, most of the US does not have any public transit access. And I believe rural US probably contributes heavily to the most severe obesity numbers.

xorollo@leminal.spaceto Technology@lemmy.world•UK households could face VPN 'ban' after use skyrockets following Online Safety BillEnglish11·18 days agoThanks for this. I think it’s really important to point out that merely having unobservable traffic could be a trigger for this.
We can’t avoid taking these threats seriously because we think we are smarter.

Cars regularly cross into it, and bikers have died.
