Your comment has me convinced. I tend to read sci-fi but have been “classic curious” for a long time. Had been eyeing Silas Marner for a while - it’s now next in my list (after I finish Use of Weapons by Iain M. Banks).

What pressure? Wasn’t the whole thing pretty much planned for years?
Putin went there with an agenda. Trump blew hot air about sanctions if there wasn’t a ceasefire, and 3 hours in, he’s parroting the Putin line. Trump has dementia- he shouldn’t be in charge of an ice cream van.
He always caves under pressure. Totally clueless
“Idiots. Idiots everywhere.”
I’m of the same opinion. I sometimes see people on my light rail commute journey carrying physical books and it just makes me appreciate the convenience of ebooks.
Israel is a rogue nation. Boycott, divest and sanction. The only thing that works.
No class.
About half way through Player of Games by Iain M. Banks.
Decided to re-read the entire series. Read it years ago and it’s as good the second time round.
Love the analogy :-)
An image I can’t get out of my head!!
Just started today, Player of Games by Iain M. Banks.
I’ve read the entire series, and decided to re-read. Just completed Consider Phlebus yesterday and it was as good as the first time I read it.
This is good to know!
Signed up and paid for Deezer but it doesn’t work with my vpn (Mullvad) so I cancelled.
Now I’m in a similar situation as others in this thread - looking for a non-US music streaming, other than Spotify :-)
Wow, I had to look that one up. Had never heard of it.
This looks promising. I’m in Ireland - we’re always the last to get these (too small a country!)
One to keep an eye on - thanks for that.
I wish Europe had its own payment system (that’s widely accepted). There are a few, but tend to be only at a national level.
I haven’t but now that I know, I’ll definitely check it out - thanks
Currently reading Consider Phlebus. Read the entire series years ago but thought it was worth re-read. Just as good as my first time!
I’ll definitely post an update! I’m looking forward to the new experience
