I absolutely have experienced this before, but you know what’s even scarier than seeking a new job? Having no money. That’s one way to cure jobaphobia real damn quick.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's an online service you happily pay for?
91·11 hours agoI pay for that too but I wouldn’t say I’m HAPPY about paying for it. Because I remember when YouTube used to be free and had no ads.
Agree because it’s a real mental illness that some people are tornented with, and that word should not be thrown around playfully.
The word I didn’t love from OOP was “unironically.” I truly don’t love that word.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•I don't have money to pay premium to not see ads. What in the world makes you think that I have money to buy what you are advertising me?
2·2 days agoYouTube premium $148.39 per year. And they no longer let us break it into monthly payments. I remember when YouTube cost nothing with no ads. And then I remember it cost $7.99 a month. Then it was $9.99 a month. Then for a few years it was $12.99 a month. And all of a sudden they’re like $148.39 a year!
I love daft punk, they welcome fans to make fan-made videos and they do not hit them with copyright strikes! 😄

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Do rich people get addicted to drugs?
11·2 days agoThe murderer was schizophrenic. He used drugs to cope with the schizophrenia. But it was schizophrenia that caused the murder.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why are public school teachers so underpaid in the US?
15·2 days agoYou’re right, it’s a stereotype. Teachers get paid plenty these days. My daughter’s 4th grade teacher just bought herself her own house.

Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•80 year-old brings his father to a restaurant to win free oysters.
2·3 days agoGreat! And you’ll get bonus points if you’re 80 years old and your dad is still alive and you bring him with you.
Yeah I bet they’re so sad they peaked early, they’re all crying & blowing their noses with million-dollar-bills in their mansions for the rest of their lives.
Is the general consensus that the woman had a miscarriage?
Horses are incredibly costly to keep & maintain, and consume your entire life to care for them. Have fun with that, out on your ranch which you’ll also need a few extra million dollars to acquire.
I’m still curious WTF kind of pizza Jennifer Aniston is making that drives all her fellow celebrities wild.
