When I was a kid it wasn’t uncommon to get out first days of below freezing weather in October

Last October I wore a sweater only a couple times (edit: by only a couple times I mean it was so warm I was wearing a T-shirt the rest of the month)

This year it’s barely dipped below freezing except for the week we had an ice strom this year

Until I was about 7 it was common to get snow before Christmas and often times as early as Thanksgiving

Nowadays the song “White Christmas” does feel like a dream of a bygone era

Different strokes for different folks

It was in the 50s and and 60s last month in the Portland - Vancouver Metro area except for 1 week where it was in the teens

It’s supposed to be way colder than that

Hell a century ago the Columbia River froze over, it hasn’t been even remotely close to that in a long fuckin time

Not only miserable but also way more toxic than they used to be

I don’t understand why people get that upset at video games

Like seriously a lot of people really need to learn to control their anger

I don’t know why people keep saying you need it to do the deed, I’ve been at it for 20 years without lotion and it’s fine

Adding lube or lotion to the equation just makes clean up worse

What helped me a lot was dealing with a lot of the root causes of my anxiety

Which for me was getting diagnosed with Inattentive ADHD and addressing that

It caused such a massive boost in my quality of life and was such a boon to my mental health as a result that my anxiety levels went way down

I literally haven’t had a panic attack in almost a year and that one was caused by my what I’d say was a perfect shit show of a day

Edit: Not to mention of course that dealing with the ADHD gave me additional skills for dealing with my PTSD but that’s a whole other can of worms.

It sounds silly but breaking that cycle can help a lot

When I used to have panic attacks a lot I’d feel like I was balancing on a knifes edge for days afterwards

This was met at the gathering with laughs and cheers

One I’ve heard is taxing vacant homes a higher rate as well

So basically if someone owns a home and it’s not their primary residence and no one currently lives there it’s taxed at a higher rate thereby encouraging people to either sell or rent it out
