  • There’s a guy in our town with no arms or legs. Gets around on a skateboard. Shot himself in the woods during winter but was found and given medical attention. But not before he lost all 4 limbs to frostbite. I’ve never spoken to him. Seems to have a pretty positive disposition given his circumstances.

Also have a bro whose gf slit her wrists in the tub. She survived. Hella trauma all around. Still on the waiting list for surgery to fix her hands years later.

Had a total karen of a neighbour once…Hard not to be callous cuz she was genuinely unpleasant to interact with but found out from my roommate that several years back she came home and found her son had hung himself in the closet at like 17. Who knows if she was nicer back then but clearly permafucked her mentally. She didn’t even move out. She kept living there.

Dying peacefully via MAID is certainly less traumatic to everyone else.

  • intends to criminalize me for something I purchased legally

Are you referring to the Firearm Violence Prevention Act? AFAICT the only way any legal and responsible gun owner would become a criminal under this legislation is if they’re bringing an emotional support gun to school/church/daycare.

Regardless do you care to elaborate?

I do have concerns about governments disarming the populace. At the same time I like living in a society where lethal force isn’t omnipresent.

  • The part your missing is why it’s illegal. Canadian electric code requires everything to go through the breaker box so that electricians can know there is no current in the building.

So even if the rules are changed this introduces installation costs that could be prohibitive.

A safety stamp that says these systems are good to go

Of which there are current zero devices registered for legal sale in Canada, because of the code issues prescribed above.

It’s safe, it’s proven, and it works everywhere it’s allowed.

The problem is that plug in balcony solar is not considered safe according to our electrical code.

Plus any situation where they make balcony solar accessible will inherently mean rooftop solar becomes availabe and is clearly the more cost effective option.
