    I will have to disagree. The reason alphabet don’t hire specific outrage manufacturers is because they already get their cut. They make a fortune from Jo Rogan videos and other conspiracy nuts through youtube. And they are more than happy to push these people to tops of our algorithms to capitalise

      They’re not pushing it to the top of the algorithms. The algorithms are driven by engagement. And outrage is one of the most sure drivers. You’re attributing far more to Google than I think we can reasonably prove their involved in. Never attribute to malice what could be attributed to incompetence.

        Google is more than aware that outrage makes money. It’s a bit like saying I work a day job baking cookies and do contract killing on the side, so I’m not as bad as the guy who does contract killing fulltime. While it is objectively better why bother defending it?
