Supriya Dwivedi, who worked as a senior adviser to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, found the decision mystifying.

“It’s honestly mind-boggling why any Liberal government would invite a key figure involved in the horror show that is Project 2025,” Dwivedi told The Tyee over text.

      Update:

      https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/kevin-roberts-project-2025-carney-1.7624327

Edit: I don’t even think cbc would say his name I am in a rush family clamoring for food. Will try to find original post.

Edit: Gone can no longer find the article. Will keep trying but I did find this.

“Peter Thiel has been associated with Canada as an investor and board member for Vancouver-based antibody therapy developer AbCellera“

Yeah I’d definitely wondered who the AI-focused VC firm was when I read that article yesterday, but I still haven’t seen a name anywhere.

I mean no matter who it is, it’s still ludicrous that they’re inviting a VC firm doing AI gambles and not, say, union leaders or civil society groups.

Brookfield, incidentally, has tens of billions invested in AI stuff and recently extended a $750 million line of credit to a Thiel-backed AI data center company: https://blundervalley.ca/blog/crusoe-thiel-brookfield/

Glad, that I wasn’t the only one who picked up on that. It’s all about what’s good for the corpos.

Can’t find the original article and I am good at scouring. Guess they wanted it gone?

At this point I am almost doubting myself. I know I saw the article and read it. It is now nowhere at archive is nor at least 10 search engines. Gone, vamoose, no longer of this earth, shuffled off its mortal coil, pining for the fjords.

Only 2 different articles a day later saying that a “project 2025 mastermind” will no longer be coming. No names which in itself is to me rather sus.

              So weird.

I mean, if you did simply misremember, I can tell you I’ve definitely done that before!

Whether or not Carney invited Thiel, though, the two of them are definitely not strangers. The two are among a small number of Bilderberg participants who attended every single year over the last decade or so, for starters. (Except for 2020 & 2021 when the meetings were cancelled due to the pandemic)

Then there’s the president of Palantir Canada, David MacNaughton, who sits on the PM’s Council for Canada-US Relations. Wow, small world, right?

If Carney really did invite Thiel, the shocking bit is mostly that they’d be so open about how connected they are tbh!
