    You have a not too old flagship device, many people look to install a custom ROM on a phone that doesn’t get security updates anymore to extend it’s life so that effect will be felt a lot more

      well grapheneos does not support devices when they stop receiving security updates in general so you can’t choose grapheneos to “extend the life”

        They do do newer OS versions though right? Or am I thinking of something else

          If a Pixel stops receiving security updates from Google, it also stops being supported by GrapheneOS, for example, the Pixel 4. GrapheneOS is not like LineageOS where you can use it to update your phone after the OEM stops shipping updates.
