I don’t usually pay attention to whichever instance I’ve drifted into from all, so if you see me in a weird place, that’s why!

I promise you my potato soup is not a sauce.
It’s a cream soup and it’s essentially weird mashed potato when cold.
You’re characterizing a whole spectrum with one terrible example.
My least favorite word as a first responder: “ejected.”
Hope everything comes out alright.

There’s misplaced, lost, and I put it somewhere safe.
The last one is the most dangerous and you’ll never see it again.
When the state wants you dead, self care is an act of protest.
This needs to go to flippanarchy.

0·8 months agoThis is so weird to me. Maybe it’s about who you are, or who you run with, but when I saw that Discord was about to go that way, I messaged my Pathfinder group and every single person there immediately hit me back with, “so where to next?”
Oh. I just figured they were all stimulants. And also I’m an anarchist so my concern for someone taking illegal drugs is independent of their legality.
They are for some people with ADHD!
I appreciate your comment.
I’ve actually talked to my fiance about things like this, because I noticed that I was ‘handling’ him, and I felt like it was demeaning to him. Luckily for me, he considered what I said and informed me that he likes that.
Consent makes the difference!
Probably helps that I’m used to disturbed and abused humans, too…

1·8 months agoI found mansplain on Merriam Webster, and also on Wikipedia. The Merriam Webster article says “of a man,” and the wikipedia article says “for a man” at the start.
Usually for these things I’d be all for abolishing the gendered nature of the word, but I feel like it would dilute the original meaning. So if anything, instead of gender-normalizing ‘mansplain,’ I think we need to add ‘womansplain,’ which is something I’m very guilty of doing to my partner whenever he’s cooking because I keep forgetting that it’s something he does very well.
But also, my reply still has merit here, because that individual was obviously weaponizing ‘mansplain’ to try and gender me, a woman, when what they likely wanted to convey was that they found me condescending. They shouldn’t be appropriating a gendered word to say something else they mean, so… uh. Sorry for all the extra words. I took my ADHD medication today and language discussion fascinates me.

Okay but Armpits Esquire has the kind of whimsy I love best.
