If you can’t get a good one it’s not even worth trying. So I wonder if that’s the case for some people.
We didn’t have one for 5-6 years, finally I signed up for one and the guy sucks ass, so I just use whoever is available at the walk-in clinic. Even then only 1 out of 5-6 doctors there gives a shit, and 1-2 do depending in their mood.
My wife didn’t bother signing up with one after I told her my experience.

Dunno about the other airports, but what makes it particularly idiotic at YVR is that a lot of extra construction has been happening over the last few years (parking garages it would appear?). And you just know that any private owner will make parking costs sky high and government will see fuckall profit from that investment. Sure they could make very specific contracts with private owner about that, but this is government we’re talking about, buddy of a buddy will be raking it in.

FWIW sourdough is not terrible after freezing either, as long as your freezer isn’t a moisture sucking drying POS (looking at you home rental fridge freezer), but can’t quite compare to fresh. When we used to buy these in store, we’d generally buy half or quarter of a loaf to eat it while it’s fresh (half was about size of your 1 loaf).
I figured out the freezing part when I had to live on my own and deal with shopping and school, so convenience was necessary, whilst not overpaying for groceries.

And AFAIK you can’t just get a job at Costco anymore (unless it’s something very specific that requires certain education /skill?), you have to work 1-2 years as contractor and hope to get an offer.

If you know what’s worth getting and what isn’t at Costco, membership is still a good deal and if you know your spend, even just 3k a year, it’s worth being executive member over regular, as you get it back (60+) in cashback, but they are enshittifying at breakneck speed.
