I was just browsing their list of patches and there are some really great ones. Def gonna start using this. So thanks for sharing the link
Every release gets better and better. Makes me happy to see all the work that goes into this weird network that is Ours!
wakest@piefed.socialto Fediverse@lemmy.ml•TIL Maegul coined the term 'threadiverse' June 5th 2023English5·10 days agobut if I am using Lemmy and someone says follow me on the fediverse, I have to say I can’t because there isn’t that ability. I think that’s one of the main differences that the word Threadiverse differentiates

wakest@piefed.socialto Fediverse@lemmy.world•Our fediverse conversations are gonna have the context they have been missing!English3·11 days agoThere have been monthly meetings about this issue and surrounding ones that are open to the public if you really want to know more. There are years worth of discussions about it too but they are very spread around
wakest@piefed.socialto Fediverse@lemmy.world•Fediverse Report #127 - an overview of all the fediverse clientsEnglish1·11 days agoWas curious if they supported Piefed and tried to log in with my account and it doesn’t work but also doesn’t give an error lol
wakest@piefed.socialto Fediverse@lemmy.world•Our fediverse conversations are gonna have the context they have been missing!English2·11 days agoWow that is a badly written sentence! I think you get my point tho
wakest@piefed.socialto Fediverse@lemmy.world•Our fediverse conversations are gonna have the context they have been missing!English4·11 days agoMy point is that there is never a hard line between any other parts of the fediverse so if there is a new feature or way one part does something it will always have an effect on the other parts.
wakest@piefed.socialto Fediverse@lemmy.world•Our fediverse conversations are gonna have the context they have been missing!English3·11 days agoeverything is weaved together! What happenes when a mastodon account responds to a piefed account and then that gets shared by a Friendica account etc.
wakest@piefed.socialto Fediverse@lemmy.world•Our fediverse conversations are gonna have the context they have been missing!English49·11 days agoSometimes you see a post on your home instance and it looks like it has no replies but then you go look at it on the remote view and there are lots of replies. Backfilling is like making sure if you see a post it has all the comments
Have a link to it? Or a screenshot?
Sort of amazing people are just discovering this now, I was so into this when I first found out about it back in the tumblr days
Would love to see a 3d recreation of as much as possible. Would be cool to go thru all the videos and documentation of it and build a real 3d world from that
wakest@piefed.socialto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What kind of communities would you like to see either created or become more active on Lemmy?English2·2 months agoBeen wanting to start a ‘bad graffiti’ sub for a while
wakest@piefed.socialto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What weird words or phrases does your family use?English2·2 months agoA neologism my mother taught me as I was first learning to talk (and eat) was ‘clurt’
If you are eating something that is drippy like yogurt or soup you need to clurt your spoon before you put it in your mouth. Grew up saying this and was always confused when people didn’t understand what I was talking about
wakest@piefed.socialto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What weird words or phrases does your family use?English2·2 months agoI didn’t realize this is a midwestern thing. Grew up with this term in Wisconsin
wakest@piefed.socialto Fediverse@lemmy.ml•Can the term 'link aggregator' be changed to 'decentralized forum'English4·2 months agoI agree that ‘link aggregator’ is a horrible term that is only relevant to nerds and shouldn’t be used in any general user facing way as a description. I think this is the sort of thing that is really a collective failure of the fediverse and open source / free culture projects in general is how out of reach all of our lingo is to anyone not already in the in-group.
This article has been a source of so much frustration over the years. I honestly think it should be scrapped and entirely rewritten.
