It sounds like you’re using CPU to encode your videos. If you use AMF, it shouldn’t make you CPU work that hard.

If you can’t find it, it’s very likely not supported. While AMF support HEVC encoding, its likely support the standard 8 bit, not the 10 bit profile.

It is hard to tell as AMD is quite vague on the encoder/decoder supported per model, unlike Nvidia. At least not within my 5 minute search.

Honestly, I would advice you get a second hand 1660S if you need hardware acceleration absolutely, like Plex/Jellyfin transcode. Otherwise, I will stick to CPU as that give better overall quality at the same size.

On the remote NUC, install a TrueNAS VM and wg within, then create a backup pool. Connect the two TrueNAS instance together and create a remote sync in TrueNAS.

This setup will gives you 2 backup copies of your data, one local and one remote.

This might work but again I have no experience with Proxmox or TrueNAS. It’s just an idea.

• content governance
• format standardization
• malvertisement prevention
• XSS possibility
• Loading time to different advertiser’s server (subject to implementation)
• Revenue (if monetary based, which may involve going down the cryptocurrency, tracking/privacy, ad fruad, etc. rabbit hole)
• Ad blockers

With x86, there are AMD and Intel. With ARM, how many designers are here? With more designers, the smaller the potential common ground is, and more code paths to optimize, thus cost more to build.

He is sort of right, back in 2019. Even then, IBM PowerPC mainframe are still thriving.

Now, new language with cross compilation with some maturity are here. Major cloud providers now have ARM base machines ready, even designing to their own need.

ARM is in the datacenter market and become a trend.

The only thing I worried about, is the architecture of ARM are too fractured. AWS Graviton might behave differently than Ampere Altra, despite both have the ARM ISA.

Just don’t mix up public and private IP. You cant use private IP outside of your LAN if you want to access it when you on the go.

I was looking at Proton too but I’m already a customer and the VPN is going to be shared with family members. I worries if they can access my mail if I share my account.
