Things like Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII can now be way up in the F’s with the rest of the FF games now.
I’ve been a NIN fan since way back and I felt like every album was their best before falling off with pretty much every album when it first releases. After a couple of listens and thinking I’m not gonna ever get into the new stuff, I catch myself having songs off their newest album stuck in my head only to repeat the process with the next one.
This happens to Queens of the Stone Age with me too but less so. I always go into a new Qotsa album with the understanding that it’s going to take a couple listens before it becomes my new favorite album.
FFXIV for sure is up there. Probably my most hours in a single game. The first several Monster Hunter games are so similar that I kinda want to count all their hours together. If I did that then the MH franchise MAY surpass XIV. Either one is a hell of an experience and I don’t regret any of it.
I think there’s a difference between being a shitty person and being unwilling to help and being repeatedly used because you’ve helped out a couple of times before and now people end up leveraging your kindness. I personally subscribe to the line of thinking in the comment you replied to after giving the person I’m working with the benefit of the doubt that it’s a justified emergency a couple of times. I have a list of people at work now that I’ll still assist but I don’t jump at the opportunity as quickly because everything is an emergency to them and I think that’s just as shitty as not helping someone.
Just to clarify, I phrase it a bit differently: Not “piss-poor planning” but rather “a lack of planning” since it sounds less aggressive.
As someone who’s gone through those same feelings on previous revivals, my recommendation is to remain cautiously pessimistic.
Fire in the Sky. It’s about an alien abduction and the dude has PTSD and flashbacks throughout. Ruined maple syrup for me for a long time.
Agreed, 100%. I grew up in a hot area and worked in offices where long pants were the standard. I was always jealous that ladies could get all that ventilation and I was stuck with boiler pipes on my legs.
I wonder if ants and bees get flooded with endorphins when they’re endlessly working so 80-100 hour weeks would be just fine for them. We’re apes, we’re supposed to eat berries and weird mushrooms and procreate in the forest, we’re not designed to work any harder than we have to to do those two things.
