One thing I disliked about reddit is how controversial topics tend to get highly upvoted knee-jerk reactions. They’re often low effort and tend to get traction by virtue of being one of early replies to the topic.
It’s not as bad here, but that’s probably because of fewer users compared to the other site.

I vaguely remember seeing one of the artists’ videos on reddit but kinda forgot about him. But last night I stumbled upon this song on a Youtube short and I especially liked the lady singer’s voice. It got me looking for the original and what a pleasant surprise.

I think I need to clean my Youtube watch history. I keep getting Youtube Shorts with content I’d rather skip and marking the channel with Do Not Rec is useless since it’s always a different channel. I’d rather penalize channels that feature Rogan, Tate, and their ilk.

It can be daunting as well, but participating in rewatch discussions has helped me delve into some of the older shows. I joined the Macross rewatch a few years back and it took us months to reach up until Delta. I saw most the shows in the list, but I might not have gone through Macross 7 just by myself. The only real problem though is the schedules for the post in order to properly participate in the discussions.
While I would love to have more people in here, I personally feel like it might be more important to establish and reinforce what kind of culture we want to foster here; now that we have a newer canvass. There are some aspects of reddit culture that has come to annoy me and it’s grating how I’m seeing more of the same on some parts of Lemmy. I can’t quite put it into words, but r/ph felt exhausting these past years.
To me it’s how it focuses more on the UX - how content is presented and how you navigate and interact with it.
And without. The update already provides the option to just Remove ads.
As for the UI, bothered ako nung ni-lilist niya YouTube or linked images sa ilalim. It ruins the layout, and I don’t see the point of it.
Are you talking about the Slides view? I usually set it to Cards as that’s how I always used Sync.
Last night before the latest update I saw at least 1 ad per community pero ngayon it’s just a blank space marked with Sponsored content. I just wish the cost for ad-free Sync wasn’t that expensive (I got Sync Pro back in 2016 at 50PHP.) But for now I’ll see if it could drastically improve how I interact with Lemmy and decide if it’s worth it. The UX alone though is what makes it really good.

I’m slowly weaning myself off Chrome with their current push for what’s essentially DRM for websites. It really feels like the season for reconsidering how we interact online.
I saw a github repo for a bot used in last year’s r/place with a long list of forks. It’s likely re-used this year as well. They couldn’t even address the spam bots so it’s unlikely they could put more effort for a short event.
Especially yung Ketchup Fries flavor. Binibili ko yun during the lockdowns kasi it’s resealable, so in theory I could ration it to last until the next grocery trip. It never lasts.
It’s an elephant in the room. It’s an unavoidable topic that will eventually need to be addressed at some point.
