Well I looked at the meme, and my first thought was “I’m confused” because I didn’t get it. So I guess I’m one of the people that were confused.

sulungskwa@lemmy.worldto General Discussion@lemmy.world•Is lemmy working on better default sort options than “hot” and “active”?10·2 years agoI don’t know how well lemmy sorts by “level of interaction relative to number of subscribers”. For instance on r/all, you’d see a post with 15 upvotes on r/really-specific-thing-from-the-town-i-live-in-with-500-subs right next to a r/askreddit thread with 30k upvotes. In order to see smaller communities, it seems like I have to be on new or hot, but it never seems to make its way up to active.

Isn’t it just a competition to see who can talk the fastest? I watched a video of it once and it seemed so dumb. It’s like the entire thing is just finding loopholes

Kinda refuse to believe that every single person on threads is going to post low quality content. I’d argue that content made by a bunch of people not constantly thinking about the fediverse will help the fediverse. Let’s be honest, lots of the content posted on fediverse apps are somewhat forced because we all want this to work.
sulungskwa@lemmy.worldto Fediverse@lemmy.world•You're So Vain, You Probably Think This App Is About You: On Meta and MastodonEnglish2·2 years agoWell nothing probably. I think Instagram collects as much as threads does. My point was just that if you’re only on lemmy or mastodon or whatever, you won’t have to worry about the data they’re collecting from their own users.

sulungskwa@lemmy.worldto Fediverse@lemmy.world•You're So Vain, You Probably Think This App Is About You: On Meta and MastodonEnglish103·2 years agoI’ve seen so many people that want to defederate from Threads because they’re scared it will get their personal data somehow. Just goes to show that not a lot of people understand how this technology works yet. The only data threads will see is the stuff you post publicly.
I dont know, doesn’t like, blocking the entire site to people without twitter accounts count as censorship?

old.reddit.com is still kickin it. No talk I’ve heard of to get rid of it yet. The second it’s gone I’m gone.
