You could download a terminal app (termux from f-droid) and run ls > file.txt. You would first want to cd (change directory) to the location you’re interested in. This will generate a file.txt with the output of ls (list files command).

On new installs it does force you. I had to do it today (Windows 10). There are workaround such as attempting to log into a banned account, or other weird hacks involving disconnecting the internet and know the right combinations of hidden menus to navigate.
If the photos go to a private directory but you are now rooted you should be able to directly access that directory and copy the files out. This is assuming that they are stored as regular files in that directory instead of being solely in the sqlite db. Does that work?
