Dismantling the FBI’s domestic counter-terrorism monitoring of the far-right absolutely benefits them. They won’t see any financial gain. Its not like you can say “oh no, I donate to services that help the needy” because that person isn’t necessarily being helped by that.

I had a friend say exactly that to someone. It looked at homelessness in the Bay Area (where we live) and getting a bed is nearly impossible.

My partner is a refugee / enemy of her former state for advocating democracy. Her friend was on the phone with her (the friend’s) brother when he was kidnapped and disappeared. Another of her friends was targeted in his home (abroad) and has to keep his travel plans secret. And that country is nowhere near as powerful as China. This woman is extremely brave.
