The First Law trilogy by Joe Abercrombie is your ticket, if you haven’t read it already. First book is called The Blade Itself.
Got a preference for light or dark?
On the human rights. Now cut the shit. Cognitive empathy is a learned skill one can practice. Try.
No Such Thing as a Fish - It’s light and comedic, each presenter explains a little known bizarre or extraordinary fact and the others riff off from it. There’s no specific discipline of study it follows, and it doesn’t do any deep dives, but it’s fun to listen to while doing the dishes.
I love NPR, but I swear to god if they do one more goddamn ‘The economy is great! Why aren’t you dumb peasants rejoicing?’ article I’m finna act out.
Messy. Damnable. Pragmatism is hell, not cowardice. Trump is not a clay that can be worked on. He will go all in with what Israel is doing. With no alternative, if the lesser evil saves a life I’ll shake hands with it and kiss it on either cheek.
More dominoes lined up this go around.
More safe guards have eroded since 2020. The Republicans that did not fall to heel have been replaced.
Last time he had less of a plan, and less institutional support. Now they have lists of supporters to fill the non-elected positions -those were the people that who slowrolled and resisted his worst policies before.
I’d like to be more optimistic, but this isn’t going to be a fair fight and the stakes are higher.
Yeah, was listening to BBC this morning -Tim Franks interviewing Israeli intelligence about allowing fuel through to get water pumps going again. It was very clear the answer was no, but they refused to say so directly. The interviewee became hostile and kept going on about how hamas uses these people as human shields. … Is the west supposed to think dying of thirst the more humanitarian option? I regularly shop men’s jeans for the pockets and lower odds of finding glitter on the ass, can say if the fit doesn’t work it’s because the front is a bit too accommodating. But that’s the only issue I occasionally run into.
For peace of mind just avoid Stefanik’s district, some people call it Cantucky for a reason. 🥲.
Ya’ll do make a lovely casserole.
I guess since you are an anthropomorphized dog that all your memes are furry by default?
Thank you! It’s always interesting to listen to professionals in a field use technical language. 😃
Putting down the shovel would be a great first step.
Beehaw defederated from shitworks around then (they are waiting for mod tools to refederate), you can see beehaw if you log out, or use a different instance.
Hm. I am a bit sorry for you and for those around you online stranger. Righteous intolerance is like drinking, at first its cruelty gives you rush but you’ll have to keep going to avoid the hangover -to keep the doubt at bay. And like all drunks, you’ll get so deep in your cups to wound those you care about. They’ll have to make the choice to suffer you or walk away. Listen to the chorus, take control of yourself and stop the tragedy before the third act. Cognitive empathy is a skill you can practice now.
Had a friend with a kid getting bullied badly before the start of covid. They said going online was the best thing for him, emotionally and grade-wise. Gave him a chance to break the anxiety cycle and room to breathe. I hope yours has found their way to thrive!
Hey downvoters, the world doesn’t always allow for convient or conventional solutions. Anything is better than a kid that calls it a day. Anything. Anything. Say it with me. Anything. I know of families that tried to pretend their kid’s mental health was a phase to buckle down and push through. Want to guess the end to that story?
