Sure, it’s always at least accompanied by a good spicy salsa. It’s definitely different from the food further north though. Tacos are there but they’re not as good as Mexico City, for the most part. My absolute favorite thing to eat there are the tlayudas especially from the vendors on the street which you, conversely, won’t find up north … at least not good ones. The mezcal is also awesome and I love a good mole … I’ve still never found one as good as an ex girlfriend’s mom once made me 😅 but what I had in Oaxaca came pretty close
yeah it’s called la calle de los paraguas next to the witch’s market…I suppose they provide a modicum of shelter as well ☺️
yeah good way of putting it 👍

I think that’s a good way of putting it. Apparently, there are at least six places called “Copacabana” around the world. This is the original one and derives from an Aymara phrase meaning “view of the lake.” Almost all other locations trace their name back to the Bolivian town via devotion to the Virgin of Copacabana … as per what Wikipedia and Wikitravel tell me
You’re welcome! 😅 I’m glad you’re enjoying them. I’m from the States, but I’ve been traveling in South America for a little over a year now. I realized that I had all these pics sitting around that I’ve collected and thought this would be a good way to get them seen by somebody. ☺️
Indeed, they’ll take on the flavor of whatever you add to them just like potato chips. Otherwise, it’s just a different crunchy texture.

haha I remember going to Mexican restaurants as a kid in Texas and thinking it was a fancy place if they served food in a molcajete 😅 they’re pretty common in Mexico… this is bar food at a place in Coyoacan
aji sauce ☺️ over chicken and potatoes with rice and hard-boiled egg. I believe that was a touch of parmesan though I’m not privy to the entire magic mix of ingredients.
