while I watch the USA enjoyers battle it out with the China enjoyers in the “it makes my feels big” voting, I will just say the featured content was interesting and enjoyable. worth a watch.
…just this guy, you know.

Jean Carroll verdict — and soon — even though an appeal means she has to wait for itEnglish17·2 years agogonna just point out the collective PTSD we are all suffering. I also initially read it incorrectly and didnt bother re-reading because… well… “its the orange asshole - of course he’s avoiding consequence… again!”
this puss filled ass boil needs to see jail time.
qprimed@lemmy.mlto News@lemmy.world•After Alabama pioneers nitrogen gas execution, Ohio may be poised to followEnglish7·2 years ago…I do not believe that my thinking is underdeveloped or immature.
and this is precisely what the underdeveloped me of years past would have said as well.
if personal development is some sort of continuum, with the me of now being different from the me of the past, then I hope the me of the future is wise enough to forgive the me of the now for my errors, seeking correction, not retribution - and empathetic enough to apply this same wish to others.

qprimed@lemmy.mlto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why has the world gone to shit?English37·2 years agoI was honestly ascribing nothing to the parent comment. it was a genuine request for clarification (with a little editorializing of my own).
if my comment was not to your liking, then so be it, but I assure you that no malice was intended.
qprimed@lemmy.mlto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why has the world gone to shit?English106·2 years agoThen 2008 happened.
I am going to assume you reference the financial meltdown that had been brewing for years and had been fore-ordained by the weakening of regulations by prior administrations… correct?
edit: but, of course it could also he the incoherent rage of the right over a non-white president. so many options, so little thoughtfulness from a certain segment of the electorate.

qprimed@lemmy.mlto World News@lemmy.world•An unprecedented flu strain is attacking hundreds of animal species. Humans could be nextEnglish9·2 years agooh, I think we are in for a rude awakening within some reasonable timeline (10 years or less?). pathogen load on everything seems to be on the rise. 2016 reduced my already shaky faith in humanity. 2020 killed it.
shelters, especially after the covid shut in, have been inundated with surrenders and strays. they often come in malnourished and sometimes in very poor health. housing desnities are high, despite the best effors of the staff. its really, really bad in some areas.
if you have the means, please go to a shelter and either adopt or foster an animal. these animals are amazing companions and deserve so much more than to die in a kennel.
my house currently has two rescues (the most fantastic dogs you will ever meet) and we are looking to foster another to help alleviate the shelter load.

qprimed@lemmy.mlto World News@lemmy.world•An unprecedented flu strain is attacking hundreds of animal species. Humans could be nextEnglish22·2 years agothere is a pretty nasty respiratory infection circulating around shelters right now. higher infection rates and more severe than the normal kenel cough. not sure if its related, but shelters seem to have been caught unprepared. :-(
but then its no longer water, now is it?!
nah, this is one of the most wholesome communities in the fediverse. not even kidding.
it took me decades to finally realize just how amazing this stuff we call water really is.
this really was a good read. thank you.
I am now in pain. why am I now in pain?! I don’t understand. it hurts.

They were more likely to be female and less likely to have a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree or a household income exceeding $150,000. This profile suggests a unique demographic makeup of this political faction.
…interesting.
"…There is good news in the lack of willingness to engage in violence, but it comes with a caveat: support for violence by the unwilling may enable the willing to proceed.”
so, primarily, a group of hateful, apathetic cowards. that tracks and the term “useful idiot” leaps to mind.
Brilliant! TPM as a crappy OS ad blocker… but this is still the worst timeline.
