I must not run in the same kinds of circles as you, online or IRL, because I think I’ve only heard one or two people use the term clanker and I haven’t heard anyone use the other terms you mentioned. The times I’ve heard/read clanker, it didn’t seem like the people were trying to make allusions to the n word. They certainly weren’t doing any of that “clanka”, “don’t say the hard R, yuck yuck” type stuff or I definitely would have clocked what they were doing. The other terms you mentioned are, to me, way more obviously derived from existing slurs.

I know it’s probably an artistic choice or maybe a lack of budget thing, but I find it weird how textureless these guys are. You don’t have to make them realistic or anything, but let the dog look like it has fur beyond the little anime spikes at the tips. Let the bird look like it has feathers. Right now he looks kind of like if a bird put a green bedsheet over his head to be a ghost for Halloween.

I feel like Raspbian deserves a place on here somewhere, although I’m not sure where exactly. It’s the distro I’ve installed the most times since I like to do Raspberry Pi projects, and I imagine there’s quite a few people out there whose first major exposure to Linux was for the same reason. Eh, sometimes the corporate solution is to add more horses, just not horses that are immediately (or sometimes ever) useful. Horses that have maybe never pulled a cart before or have only ever pulled carts solo. Horses that need a month of training to be able to contribute meaningfully, often through no fault of their own, but are told that this cart needs to be pulled out of the mud in two weeks. And then when the original horses tell the cart driver that it’s going to take a month to get everyone up to speed, they completely miss the point and ask how many more horses we need.

I just finished the demo of the upcoming Digimon game, and all of those points absolutely apply to it. But something tells me we’re not going to see Nintendo going after Bandai Namco any time soon.

And to your point about directed vs. non-directed battling, the most recent Pokemon games definitely have a system where you can be running around the over world, see Pokemon wandering around, and have your little guys pop out and go fuck them up.

My wife and I planted one a couple years ago and I’ve been bummed that I haven’t seen a single caterpillar on it yet this year. It’s nice and big now compared to its first season when the monarch caterpillars absolutely demolished its leaves.
