  • You’re so mad about this, and I can’t figure out why. I’m saying the Iranian government is bad, so when you say this:

Talking about how the Iranian regime “massacres and persecutes their own people” to support the the notion that America is less murderous and to claim that Iran’s actions of self-defense against American bases used to attack Iran in its allied nations around it aren’t justified (which is where this whole thread started) is self-serving tribalist hypocrisy.

It’s a non-sequitur. Nobody was defending the US and the only reason why they even came up is because you mentioned them by way of were praising an objectively awful government. It also occurred to me to ask since you put “massacres and persecutes their own people”,” do you think Iran doesn’t do that? Or is it just inconvenient to acknowledge it while fighting American imperialism online?

  • I don’t really know what you’re talking about and I strung the suspect that you don’t either.

The Iranian people are victims of their own government , it’s absolute garbage institution and should be destroyed and replaced with something that doesn’t carelessly destroy so many innocent lives. If you care about the Iranian people as you say, I have no idea why you want to condemn them to that hell with silence.

That shit is invariably wheeled out by aggressive, murderous foreign invading regimes (like the ones of American and Russia) to justify doing even more murderous things to the people of a country than those people’s regime ever did to them.

The glib willingness with which to write off all their atrocities with whataboutism and minimization is revolting, people like you are why those regimes continue as long as they do. Believe it or not, you can hate all the shitty governments, even when they’re fighting each other.

  • Russian authorities denied that the property, which at the time of construction boasted an “aquatic disco,” hookah lounge, casino, pole-dancing room, and a room for miniature railroads, belonged to Putin.

Former KGB colonel turned dictator and international menace chooses to decorate his secret hideout like a Bond villain. Yeah, that’s about right.

In 2024, Russian opposition website “Proekt” claimed that the palace had been refurbished to reflect the Russian president’s newfound fixation with religion, writing: “The renovated version does not feature a casino, a striptease hall, or an arcade room. Instead, it has a chapel housing an icon of Saint Vladimir, Putin’s patron saint.”

And then he got real, real weird.

  • Sorry, but I don’t really understand the point you’re trying to make.

Do you think Iran actually poses any meaningful threat to Ukraine, especially given their current geopolitical situation? The US wrecked most of their Caspian Sea fleet a couple weeks ago, so this isn’t even the biggest thing that happened around there this month. They seem like they already have a bunch much more urgent things to focus on than this little event, and probably don’t need any more enemies.

And, don’t forget, Iran has been supplying weapons to Russia for years, which Russia has directly used to kill Ukrainian citizens. And they didn’t start selling these weapons until the war had already started, so they can’t claim to not know what they’re being used for. This strike was a long time coming, and it’s something Iran invited on itself.

Or was your issue when I asked why are you so interested in defending the authoritarian theocracy that currently controls Iran?
