Well if the US manufacturers need to import chips (read: the item proposed to be subject to a 100% tariff) in order to make their phone with a “competitive advantage”, as you’ve claimed above, then the manufacturers will be impacted by tariffs.

That cost then gets passed onto the consumer.

The phone assembled in the US using imported parts is directly impacted by tariffs. Consumers only care about the end price, not who paid what tariff and at which point of manufacturing.

I don’t know how many ways people can explain this to you and you don’t get it. I’m assuming you’re trolling because this is extremely basic stuff.

Because tariffs are crude pieces of legislation. The US can’t make their own phones anyway, even with 1000% china tariffs, for years. You can’t just click your fingers and have manufacturing at that scale and quality exist.

I played it earlier this year after having played the first 2 only (and that was 10-15 years ago). Infinite is a good game, graphics hold up beautifully. I wouldn’t say it’s one of the greatest of all time but it was a very good game regardless.

Probably there was a hype cycle at the time of its release that I wasn’t aware of, as that’s the only way I see it as being regarded as meh.

Honestly it’s just more Bioshock, but set in the clouds rather than underwater, I liked the change of style.

Doesn’t really matter if it’s metal or not to me. I’d rather artists make stuff that they want to make. Otherwise all we’re left with is the most generic metal/other genres that have to sound like everything else in the genre.

Surely that’s a worse future for music.

To add, there’s so much overlap in musical techniques. If you hear half or double time drum changes in an electronic song the metal listener might think “oh this is a metal influence” while the jazz fan will say “oh nice, reminds me of double time swing in jazz”.

The influence might have come to the artist from one genre or the other, but the listener decides what it reminds them of.

Arguing about what is and isn’t a genre is a bit pointless at the end of the day. Music is an evolving art form and bands can borrow from this that or the other genres to create an original sound.

This band clearly has some aspects of their sound that is idiomatic of metal, as well as a bunch of stuff that doesn’t sound like metal.

It’s fair of someone to call them a metal band if that’s what they hear and connect to in the music.
