So he came back a minute ago and they tried to ship him off to Uganda?

Sure ok good to know.
I have a kind of a fleet of thinkpads, almost exclusively t490s, I really like them.
However I also understand that doesn’t necessarily mean that everything with the lenovo brand has a similar quality.
I’ve never tried one.
It seems weird having the keyboard facing outwards. I know it gets disabled when folded back, just seems wrong. I’m not saying it is wrong just that it kinda freaks me out a little bit because I’m a bit odd like that.
I’m looking at ideapads though, that might be nice.
I suspect you know far more about warfare generally than myself.
I agree that the Trump administration doesn’t care for small unsexy details like logistics, however I’m certain that the US army cares a great detail about it, and has the requisite knowledge, infrastructure, and culture to get it right.
The national guard troops in LA example isn’t really indicative of what would happen in a civil war. It was a temporary issue.
Your expectation that the Blue States might win a prolonged war based on their attention to the mundane might be sensible if both sides command relatively equal air land and sea hardware. However, it seems much more likely to me that such a conflict would be fairly short lived. If one side had a majority of the armed forces line up behind them then they’re the winner before you even get started really.
Its probably just anxiety but since the last one I haven’t been able to shake the feeling that another is inevitable.
I dont really know much about this but I know youre probably right in the context of the world wars.
Was it Spanish flu? IDK, but poor nutrition, hygiene, and close proximity in the trenches was a huge factor.
In a present day war, it would probably be different? Still some “dug in” defences but far more ranged, airborne, and remotely controlled armaments.
There’s a use case for this but who knows how big this niche is, and ultimately that’s what will determine success or failure.
Sure, it’s common to have healthy relationships, friends, a job, and take care of yourself.
However, it’s also common to endure brief or extended periods of not being able to do these things for a whole variety of reasons. It might be illness, caring for loved ones, children, loads of things.
What this ultimately means is, the “March for Australia” is a project by neo-Nazis and other White Supremacists using toned-down, big-tent, populist rhetoric with the intent of conning regular patriots and nationalists into standing alongside them “for Australia”.
This is exactly how they roll.
If you say anything about this protest at all they will say “we just think the current immigration levels are unsustainable” but in reality it’s just a way to normalise hatred.
Sure, in the context of physical abilities.
However, i think bands of hominids who care for each other have a survival advantage. I guess thats who we’ve evolved to be social creatures.
Also, nanna might not be able to hunt mammoths anymore, but she knows what to do in years when the mammoth dont come.
Come on, it’s not about crime. It’s about control, and normalising the presence of military forces in American cities.
Yeah pretty much my take.
Trump has 3 relevant characteristics, he has evil intentions, he’s incompetent, he’s popular.
Vance has evil intentions, he’s less incompetent, but he’s less popular.
The question is whether it’s going to kill him.
There’s a range of maladies common amongst octogenarians which require blood thinners that can make you bruise easily. Some benign others less so.
I do use nextcloud for my small consultancy team but I dislike it immensely, mostly due to personal preferences.
I think I pretty much just don’t like having one platform that does everything. I want to self host my own cloud, I don’t want to self host a thing that provides a cloud.
Additionally, and this really is just a personal preference, I dislike php projects almost as much as Java.
Primarily I use nextcloud’s file sync. This aspect is IMO extremely well implemented. It seems to work very reliably.
We do use contacts and calendars. If there were good alternatives I would switch to them but sabreDav et al lacks a good UI. I’m aware you can disable this functionality in nextcloud.
Anything else that can potentially be integrated is better hosted separately IMO.
it was keeping up with traffic at 35 MPH. Why should that be illegal?
I’m a bit surprised I need to enumerate all the reasons but here goes.
The bike isn’t designed for that, the article goes into detail about some of the potential failures.
There’s no system to ensure riders have a basic level of maturity, skill, and understanding of laws.
You need regulations for bikes which exceed 15MPH and for their users. Regulation ensures bikes are appropriate and riders have appropriate skill.
It’s not the rider’s own risk to weigh. They can collide with other road users, like bikes or pedestrians. They also contribute to a culture of behavior - some riders might disregard the obvious risks because they see others engaging in this behavior. Finally, if I were in a car and had an accident with a cyclist, I would be traumatised even if it wasn’t my fault.
I think a far more appropriate “fuck cars” type solution is slower traffic. Here roads are being narrowed to make room for more pedestrians and cyclists. Narrower roads some how force people to drive more slowly and be more alert. It’s very controversial, people complain about it a lot.
Nah. Thinking of people as tools to be used is the deeper thought process.
He’s just stupid enough to think that he’s “good” and the people he likes are “good”.
Nah, I don’t think Putin is that stupid.
I mean I’m sure Putin is a scum bag just like the rest of them, but he’s not going to fly to a Kompromat farm controlled by his nation’s enemies.
He genuinely believes that everyone that he associates with are inherently “good” people who occasionally do bad things.
Anyone who is dissimilar to him and others in the ruling class are inherently “bad” people who may do good things but also of course usually do bad things.
Bad people must be punished, or at least subjugated so they can earn the right to participate in a society supporting the good people. Good people shouldn’t get caught up in the occasional bad things they do.
I don’t think that’s a fair assessment of the article.
There’s one sentence about travelling in traffic. It’s related to how the police noticed that the bike was likely illegal.
Far more of the article discusses the potential dangers of travelling at 80MPH.
I honestly could give less than a shit if people were going over 35 MPH on a bicycle on a road. As long as that’s under the posted limit who cares?
I’m starting to care about these bikes. It’s a genuine problem. The paths in my area are mostly mixed use. Walkers, riders, kids, dogs, wheelchairs, everything. A 14yo kid weaving through pedestrian traffic at 60km/h is a disaster waiting to happen.
As the article correctly opines, it’s the rest of us with compliant bikes who lose.
Yeah this is exactly what I was thinking. I was looking at pictures figuring out how to hold it without touching the keys.
