  • Vegas is two pronged issue.

International visitors are 100% Trump Slump, we don’t want to be picked up by ICE for nothing, tortured, sent to a concentration camp then onto god knows wherever.

That’s the reality for anyone without US citizenship in the US.

But they’d already started to lose business due to their greed, the resort fees, parking fees, buffet fees, childcare fees, Vegas was a cheap playground where you gave some extra money to the house for the fun of playing the games. Now it’s more expensive than REAL resort locations.

The desert sucks. I live in one - Who would want to go to the desert over the tropics or the snow? Vegas’ one thing was being that cheap playground.

  • New York, July 24, 2025 - The Committee to Protect Journalists is gravely worried about the safety of Al Jazeera Arabic’s Gaza correspondent Anas Al-Sharif, who is being targeted by an Israeli military smear campaign, which he believes is a precursor to his assassination.

    Rest in peace.

I do wonder if his last tweet was, wise. It probably wouldn’t have taken Shin Bet/Mossad long to work out his exact location from it.

If you’re a war reporter, remember OpSec. Some basement dwellers found Shia Labouf’s flag in less than a day, with the whole of North America to search they narrowed it down from cloud patterns, local air traffic and a guy driving around beeping his horn once they got it into a several mile radius.

Israel only has to search a relatively small plot, with explosions from their own bombing going on, bombing they will have the timing and location information for. Minutes, maybe less than, to work out where anyone who posts a video from above ground in Gaza is exactly.

  • Actually, it’s pretty important they are recognised.

Right now, Israel is de jure attacking ‘nobody’, obviously from a de facto pov, they are attacking the two ‘states/cantons/provinces’ of Palestine, but that isn’t a recognised country.

Recognizing Palestine as a sovereign nation is incredibly important.

Sanctions against Israel are a lot easier to legislate when they’re attacking a recognised country (and should be effective unlike Russian danctions, as Israel doesn’t have Xi to lean on for support, their support base IS the west)
