lwadmin@lemmy.worldOPMto Lemmy.World Announcements@lemmy.world•Defederation from Lemmygrad.ml1·2 years agoKnow that when I said “If you disagree with this code, you are welcome to keep looking for other Lemmy instances” I was directly quoting the CoC.
If you want an overview of the instances we defederated with, and why, we keep the list updated here: https://gui.fediseer.com/instances/detail/lemmy.world

lwadmin@lemmy.worldOPMto Lemmy.World Announcements@lemmy.world•Defederation from Lemmygrad.ml484·2 years agoNo, even when the option comes for users to block whole instances we will still defederate with instances we do not want to moderate the content from. But we also always reserve the right to re-federate with any instance if the concerns are resolved.
And as per https://lemmy.world/legal : We are not a free speech zone. This Code of Conduct lays out the expected standards of conduct and behavior. Users may not say or post anything that violates these rules, and all participants are required to follow this code. If you disagree with this code, you are welcome to keep looking for other Lemmy instances. Here’s a list of all public instances.

But you probably meant something else, right?

I like to think it is someone who missed the upvote button and accidentally downvoted.
What is your favorite Alternative UI? Are you using it full-time or still switch back to the default one? We want to know!

lwadmin@lemmy.worldOPMto Lemmy.World Announcements@lemmy.world•Removed Kbin.social communities58·2 years agoWe are well aware of what’s going on with kbin and the development team. That’s why we don’t defederate because we have hope that they will fix things soon.
lwadmin@lemmy.worldOPMto Lemmy.World Announcements@lemmy.world•Removed Kbin.social communities30·2 years agoFor now ;) We will remove them should they become a problem.
lwadmin@lemmy.worldOPMto Lemmy.World Announcements@lemmy.world•Removed Kbin.social communities26·2 years agoIt’s more a treshold than a deadline. Should it become too much for our team to deal with we’ll consider our options again.
lwadmin@lemmy.worldOPMto Lemmy.World Announcements@lemmy.world•Removal of piracy communities9121·2 years agoThis was a misunderstanding from one of the team members. It has since been discussed and will not happen again. Lemmy.World and this announcement community is our primary platform,

lwadmin@lemmy.worldOPMto Lemmy.World Announcements@lemmy.world•Removal of piracy communities9544·2 years agoDoesn’t matter if they are hosted here or not. The way federation works is that threads on different instances are cached locally.
We have NO issues with the people at db0 - we are just looking out for ourselves in a ‘better safe than sorry’ fashion while we find out more. As mentioned in the OP we would like to unblock as soon as we know we can not get in any legal trouble.
We’re waiting for the worst bugs to be fixed. I’m not sure if the federation issue was fixed in 19.2 If it runs OK on other instances for a while we’ll upgrade.
