Vests cover vital organs, but there’s a lot of other places you can be shot and killed.

Bulletproof vests are also only rated for certain calibers too, mostly of what you’d think of as a bulletproof vest will only stop pistol calibers. Sure, you can get stuff that’ll stop rifle shots, but then you’re looking at wearing multiple 5-10 lb metal plates and spending quite a bit of money to get them.

To be somewhat optimistic, in my experience going out to help homeless people, everyone gives food but there’s a lot of other stuff people need. Toothpaste, hand sanitizer, blankets, clothes, etc. are a lot harder to get. There’s also people who live in storage units and need money to cover that. And yeah, theres a lpt of people who just want to buy drugs, but tbh so would I if I had to deal with what they do.

If I were to become homeless, I wouldn’t be worried about finding food, I know where to go to get that, I’d be worried about everything else. Not wanting food doesn’t mean they don’t need help

I’ve never come a cross a situation where I need to know how long I’ve been somewhere more accurately than I can remember that I can’t easily figure out some other way

You can also age locations in Google maps without having to store your location 24/7

They do, but it makes the site less useable for people, which is a win

I guess that works, though I’d push you to get engaged in mutual aid efforts or learn to shoot or something. Just because we’re watching it crumble doesn’t mean we can’t protect those we care about :)

Liberalism will inevitably lead us back here again but at least we get to live to fight. Choosing not to fight because we’re outnumbered and would have to ally with our enemies is choosing defeat.
