I think you’re second point is more important. The religious part of marriage is actually meaningless in the eyes of the law even today, you still need to apply for a marriage certificate with the government.
I think we just need to extend that to just be a cohabitation/shared asset contract for any two+ people. It makes a lot of legal sense to have a defined “family unit” for medical/legal/financial reasons, but it shouldn’t overlap with religious concepts.

On those receipts the person still has to calculate the end amount (meal+tax+tip).

The other side is that tariffs and trade “negotiations” are all over the place. You can’t really integrate that into your model when they’re changing on a day to day basis.
I suspect that Trump’s screwing with the economy is so bad that it’s messing with their models.
I’m pretty sure the idea is two fold. First, being a politician wasn’t supposed to be a full time job. The second is that politicians need to spend time in their home state to hear from constituents and be a part of their state (travel which used to take days/weeks for travel).
They probably want that, but also at the same time, that would kill software development.
That’s not really the problem here though. The problem is that Trump and Republican policy is literally breaking the economy. Tarrifs cause inflation to go up while loosing jobs, while the feds policies can generally only address one at a time (lower interest rates -> jobs and inflation go up / increase interest rates -> jobs and inflation go down).
Ultimately Trump has screwed over the economy so bad, that in half a year he’s created an economic environment that the Fed can’t fix unless Trump walks back his trade war.
Edit: This is why the Fed is in a wait and see period, they expect things to get worse and don’t want to play their only card (rates decreases) too early. Trump continues to chip away at the economy and the Fed is about the only thing keeping us afloat.

After hearing you found it in a setting I went looking around again, and while I couldn’t find any official Kubuntu documentation, it does seem like Flathub has a setup guide that mentions it as a setting config.
Also, I generally lean towards Ubuntu as most support I find online leans Debian, but curious what distro you use.
My example was just to highlight that the “average user” may not be as technically capable as many in this thread propose. But that’s also why I called out I may be underestimating the average user.
It’s possible that I underestimate the average user, but I did work IT at one point in my life and I still vividly recall needing to point out to someone that their computer wasn’t turning on becuase it wasnt plugged in.
I just looked it up again and it seems like they require you run a command in the console to enable flatpak. I’m not sure if it’s cause they use snaps, given it’s an Ubuntu derivative. I suspect as flatpak continues to win out it’ll all tend that way.
However, the fact this its even a discussion is kinda my point.

I’ve been running Kubuntu for a while and here is a recent anecdote and you can tell me if I’m just an idiot. I went to install an application so opened up the software store. After installing I found out it was an out of date version of the software. I went to the companies site and they recommended a flatpak install. Kubuntu doesn’t have flatpak enabled by default, so I have to lookup how to install flatpak and could then install the flatpak. However another piece of software recommends using the apt install, and another the Kubuntu store is fine. All of this is okay, but now there are three different ways I have to manage my software.
Its fine for me, but if that’s really the case, you’ll loose the average user at using the command line to install flatpak.
I’ve played it on mobile and it plays really well. I used touch controls, so not sure if controllers are supported, but honestly I think touch is better for a game like this.
