A decentralized platform making an announcement on a centralized, more or less, platform? Doesn’t that sound contradicting?
Like, Lemmy, are you losing faith in even yourself?

Something in the back of my mind tells me that this is a long planned plot of revenge by networking firms, that planted the seeds for greed to take it’s toll on streaming services when people were dropping cable like flies.
And maybe they want the cable subscribers back.
Cannot say I will miss it, they are a bunch of assholes over there. I once made a open discussion post there about asking people’s preferred media to pirate and I got lots of derailing responses. And when I told one of them that their jokes sucked, they went rabid.
And they are all ebeggars too. Fuck them.
“I don’t use reddit!”
And their sources are what is commonly found on Reddit.
Interjecting their life’s stories into comment sections to videos, articles .etc that wouldn’t otherwise warrant it. I see too much of it.
I’m watching wrestling videos and there’s people in the comment section going on about how their relatives died to some diabetic condition. I would read some article and there’s pockets of people going on and on about depressing stories. I’m not sure half of the time if it’s people whoring for attention or people who are that misdirected that they feel that they’ve got to go off on something completely unrelated like that.
I wish I could care, sometimes, but really I want some escapism and I don’t appreciate people having to remind others about shitty reality.
You know what, I’m going to go the opposite of this. Why in the hell are you dining out and paying THAT much to dine out? Here I am griping because recently I paid $12.83 because a chinese buffet usually charges me $11.76 but then I see receipts like this shit and realize that maybe I am better off.
If I was paying triple digits for food, I’d be making damn sure it had better be the best damn tasting food served to me or I wouldn’t leave until it was served to me.
God, people need to cook more. You can gather so many ingredients for the amount you’re paying and have several weeks of meals for the month.
All I have to say is - Jan 6th, 2021. I rest my fucking case.
Yeah but, most of them were lied to. What they thought what they were going in for, was to avenge the US for the 9/11 attacks. Only to find themselves fighting against a middle-eastern leader that wasn’t Osama, instead Saddam and mostly oil. They were fighting Gulf War 2.0 than the War on Terror.
And might I add - it took us 10 FULL years since the 9/11 attacks, during Obama’s presidency, to finally catch and kill Osama. All we had to do, was go to Pakistan. Bush never achieved this feat in all 8 years of his presidency and I hope he never took credit for it because he doesn’t deserve it. So many lives lost over a stupid “Mission Accomplished” campaign. Fuck Bush.
Americans would’ve loved to have done the same thing for the entire Iraq war.
I wouldn’t really compare AI and VR.
We know VR is still somewhat in it’s infancy but with pushes like with what Valve has been doing for it, it’s progressively getting better. It is still years away from being perfected but for what we have of VR right now, it’s not bad. We just need to figure out how to take it out of the goggle/headset interface because I think it can be designed better. If we integrate it with AR technology, then we might have a winning combination there.
AI is heavily critiqued because it is being used as a tool in a similar vein as automation, it is just a shortcut for businesses to use AI who they think can replace humans. The writers strike going on right now, reflects this. I wouldn’t exactly call it a ‘mundane’ way, more like a draconian way.
Also mildly infuriating: When the OP had made a note of it but someone still obtusely charges in with a reply like yours.
Keep Trump away from winning at all. The longer we keep him away, the more he’ll die of old age (hopefully) soon. What will his voter base do then? Their morale will cripple.
There’s a lot of corporate shills in the comments, geez. I sincerely hope half of you are at least trolling in a half-assed matter, but if you’re seriously backing corporate interests, then you’ve not been in the shoes of people who’ve provided you the shit you’ve taken advantage of them over through their work. And here you are, demonizing and lecturing them over it.
Um, no.
Does anyone go back to the person who raped them? No they don’t.
Does anyone go back to the person who extorted them? No they don’t.
Why would anyone, in their right mind, would want to be remotely associated with another platform they have no interest in?
Oh, so you didn’t ask them? Pitiful…
This isn’t Reddit, bruh, so stop worrying about your little karma count.
They’re (record companies) the ones with all of the money, dude. How am I going to pay for the musician’s living, huh? No, because it’s not my business, that’s the business between the musicians and their record companies. I have no say in what goes on in those negotiations, but you seem to think that I and pirates do, for some reason…
I am playing this game again, just for the N64 campaign. For anyone who already owns a copy, gets the remaster for free as an update. It’s amazing that a game I paid $3.99 in a bundle, is getting this much packed in.
The movie industry makes back to back billions a year. Still whines about losing “millions” as the next MCU film pulls back millions every damn summer.
The RIAA nets some double digit billions through streaming alone and this year isn’t even over yet with that reporting. Still whines about losing “millions”.
The american book publishing industry has raked in 28.1 billion U.S. dollars in 2022. Still whining!
Oh do we even have to guess how much the video game industry is raking in? $347 Billion.
Where is the fucking lost profits? How is piracy harming any of these assholes? They’re stretching their boy who cried wolf stories for far too long.
I remember following that whole story on TorrentFreak.
Like, what a fucking exaggeration of authority force over what? Because a motherfucking music exec couldn’t buy another yacht? Lost a few “millions” from lack of record sales because their dinosaur model of profiting off of music isn’t working anymore? Like fucking wah.
They treated Kim Dotcom more like a terrorist than Osama Bin Laden in comparison.
Ask that question to Spotify’s CEO. Ask that question to YouTube. Ask that question to Sony Music Execs. Ask that question to Warner Music Execs. Ask that question to RIAA.
Come back to us with their responses, I’m sure you won’t get any.
So much slippery sloping in this post alone, here.
Are you just mad because you’re lazy and want people to serve you pirated content or something? Where is the bitterness coming from here?
How about you be your own guinea pig and try this out for yourself? Tell us how it goes and later, you can write from jail to us about how it was all a predetermined failure.
It didn’t stop morons from trying to host CP on other social media networks, because the shit finds a way through shitty people in general.
