I don’t think facebook shares much data to other companies, they have more to gain by keeping it to themselves and having all the data to serve their billions of users personnalized ads. Basically the same as Google, they don’t really sell your data. For these companies I never really liked the phrase that says you are the product, youre not really the product, you are what makes their product. If a company sold your data plainly, then yes in thsi case you are the product

They do value your privacy very expensively!

I got a 42% score, but I really feel that this is because it does not take into account the fact that people have different threat models. I don’t really care that Meta has a photo of my coffee that I shared to my friends. Pretty much my only criteria for me when sending stuff on unsecured chats is if the app got hacked, would I be ashamed if it got public.

It’s only a matter of months/few years until we see the 2008 crash once again now. Everyone is into so much debt and they literally cannot pay it off. Where I live (Québec), the median and average income per person is about 50k CAD per year. However it looks like everyone has a 70k truck, a second car that’s less than 5 years old and a 400k house and goes on vacations to avoid the long winters… How can they afford it? Why do banks loan money to people who can’t afford the thing in the first place? We are so doomed.

The only way they are better, is the fact there is only one party having access to the data, aka only Apple. On Android you have google + the manufacturer, and in some cases more than those two
