  • Canada is already part of 5 eyes, and war declared to destroy its economy has not caused Canada to rethink its membership. NATO states operate firmly under CIA control including full allegiance from every “legitimate” political party. EU parliament members are appointed with CIA approval. You can know this because even if US political leadership pursues peace with Russia, and aggresses memebers, US colonies are apoplectic over the possibility of peace or resisting further colonial oppression. CIA allegiance will save us from Trump is thinking. Meanwhile, black site torture centers in Libya, Lebanon, and Syria must have thought the same.

5 eyes is already integrated with internet tech giants. It is a means to provide CIA/NSA with complete information over all 5 nation citizens, and using the other 4 to loophole info about Americans.

I doubt you need to worry about MS employees accepting CIA information requests. The monster is already in the house, as per US law, that no company is allowed to admit cooperating with.

  • But if you find yourself deep in conversation trying to explain to the LLM why it’s not getting your idea, you’re going to wind up with a bad product.

Yes. Kind of. It takes ( a couple of days) experience with LLMs to know that failing to understand your corrections means immediate delete and try another LLM. The only OpenAI llm I tried was their 120g open source release. It insisted that it was correct in its stupidity. That’s worse than LLMs that forget the corrections from 3 prompts ago, though I also learned that is also grounds for delete over any hope for their usefulness.

  • As a software developer, I’ve found some free LLMs to provide productivity boosts. It is a fairly hairpulling experience to not try too hard to get a bad LLM to correct itself, and learning to switch quickly from bad LLMs is a key skill in using them. A good model is still one that you can fix their broken code, and ask them to understand why what you provided them fixes it. They need a long context window to not repeat their mistakes. Qwen 3 is very good at this. Open source also means a future of customizing to domain, ie. language specific, optimizations, and privacy trust/unlimited use with enough local RAM, with some confidence that AI is working for you rather than data collecting for others. Claude Sonnet 4 is stronger, but limited free access.

The permanent side of high market cap US AI industry is that it will always be a vector for NSA/fascism empire supremacy, and Skynet goal, in addition to potentially stealing your input/output streams. The future for users who need to opt out of these threats, is local inference, and open source that can be customized to domains important to users/organizations. Open models are already at close parity, IMO from my investigations, and, relatively low hanging fruit, customization a certain path to exceeding parity for most applications.

No LLM can be trusted to allow you do to something you have no expertise in. This state will remain an optimistic future for longer than you hope.

  • Because I think it is very clear that to realize the potential of AI, you have to have the power to deliver it. And we have underinvested in this country, and to stay ahead, we need to actually address it head-on.”

I understand the ugliness of overall conference message/purpose, but those comments could be interpreted as polite.

Still, next election, as DNC alternative, there needs to be a Humanist America organization. Purpose is to provide UBI to Americans, but to also gain the political power to do so. All weapons, climate terrorist energy, and those who humanize Bergum, including at this conference must have 99%+ of their corporate shares nationalized. Zionist loyalty oaths by policy relevant people invalidate citizenship, and zionist agenda political funding get all wealth confiscated.

Only commensurate recusatory massive donations to Humanist America can prevent the nationalization seizure. Anyone opposing the nationalization as inappropriate, also zeroed out.

The idea that corporations must provide polite loyalty to climate terrorist fascist regime as a calculated politeness, must be significantly recalculated.

  • Gal Gadot, had previous to Snow White casting or PR tour, openly blessed Israel’s genocide. I doubt that her repeating zionazi views in promoting film would have improved box office. There was a zionazi campaign against the film because the “hero” was anti-genocide, even with Gadot, as villain, a key part of the film.

Publicity for this zionazi hasbara of blaming box office on lack of full zionazi dedication of the studio, is yet another example of absolute zionazi control over US politics and media through giving neutral toned attention to Gadot despite her objectively anti-human demonism.

  • It’s not stupid of AMD not to start a turf war where both they and they patron saint are hurt.

AMD is far ahead of intel in iGPUs. Key to laptop and mini pc segments. Desktop motherboards are bad at USB 4, and so 4 monitor support, and performance per watt. Desktop PC vendors, with external GPUs, don’t promise exact number (3+) of monitors supported.

Intel is the one that needed AMD to survive to avoid monopoly designation many years ago. That hasn’t stopped AMD from kicking Intel’s ass in iGPUs. 2+ generations ahead where latest high end intel barely outperforms 680m, with AMD having 780m cheaper, and 8600s and 890m. AMD is not “being thankful” to Intel by refusing to compete with it.

Nvidia was never under monopoly scrutiny. AMD making stupid decisions on drivers and memory configurations has no explanation. Industry underbelly NVIDIA bribes to CEO would be an explanation.

  • Much easier black market than drugs, because it is legal to import it, and no one checks when you export it.

Nvidia has 18%-28% of its sales to Singapore. They defend this by saying only 2% of their product is shipped there, but they don’t say which countries receive the bulk of shipments that are billed through Singapore.

some 5090 cards in Hong Kong (from OP) are the same price as the US, which makes it hard to understand why US people have been charged with smuggling, and shows complicity of entire supply chain to funnel to China. Premiums over MSRPs in US would be zero or lower if this was all above board. You also can’t find a 5090 on Amazon, but you can in Hong Kong boutique?

Prohibition for the loss, as always.

  • I don’t think the hard part of linux is getting proprietary GPU drivers. They all have package managers that will grab them for you, after quick google search anyway. Mint will have the most specific google support for more esoteric problems/goals. Pika OS includes gpu driver bundles and is similarly debian based. But it wasn’t good at waking from sleep on my old hardware with 1650super. Too hard to fix.
