Stuff like it would have real 100% online multiplayer, or infinite number of highly detailed planets.
OP probably meant unrealistic expectations.
ddtfrog@lemm.eeto Patient Gamers@sh.itjust.works•Fortnightly Recommendations Thread: What is worth a try?2·2 years agoStardew valley is passing my expectations tenfold. I thought it was just a farming simulator with terraria combat but nooo. I find myself genuinely wanting to make meaningful relationships with the townsfolk and not wanting to “min max best strat” like I normally do with videogames

ddtfrog@lemm.eeto Reddit@lemmy.world•Sound Off: How many 10+ year redditors have left the site?2·2 years agoIm at 11 years, and yeah 80-90% of my Reddit was from Apollo/Alienblue anytime i picked up my phone I would habitually click the app. Now, Wefwef/Voyager sits in the app location where they used to and Lemmy when im on my phone.
10-20% of the time on Reddit was on my computer and I frequent SWE / SysAdmin / DataScience subs to pass time or for help at work looking at bugs as I work as a SWE.

ddtfrog@lemm.eeto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•People of Lemmy who have either "reinvented themselves" or gone through a mid/quarter-life crisis, where did you start off and where did you end up?English3·2 years agoThis was me up until 12th grade / freshman year of college. My degree (Computer Science) doesnt “need a degree” (albeit it helps) but I will never regret going to college. Sure, i couldve bootcamped or did online learning but the social development I experienced in college I completely 180º, I figured I would fake it and put myself in uncomfortable positions and made for some really awkward moments haha. But eventually I turned it around and pretty social now I would say.
