3·4 days agoThat’s art baby, and AI doesn’t do any of that. It just arrives at the thing.
The argument is there’s value in the journey, and it sounds like there has been a fun one for you on that there guitar.

7·4 days agoI think the idea is that the art is the discovery that the pedal and the guitar let you express yourself, and what you express there.

161·4 days agoBrandon Sanderson says you are the art. The art is the change that happens in a human in the creative process. AI just can’t experience that. It simply arrives, where we must travel.

2·4 days agoI agree with commenter that it hardly feels like Chase and Status, and if you asked who it was I’d probably never guess them. That said, I dig the track. A nice surprise, and the thing has good locomotion to it with that snare.

politics @lemmy.world•Ossoff wipes the floor with Mike Collins as he cites Third Reich hires
38·4 days agoBut the hate bled even closer to home: CNN revealed in July that Collins’s son-in-law, David Alan Scheer II, was a white supremacist influencer who had shared vitriolic, extremist messaging across the internet.
Collins, however, could not seem to confront the allegation head-on without blaming his Democratic opponent.
“That’s my family. The craziness that Jon Ossoff has been spewing out there—I actually had a person put in jail this weekend because he not only wanted to kill my son-in-law but he wanted to kill me,” Collins said when asked directly about his son-in-law’s social media activity. “I’ve condemned racism, antisemitism, hate. I don’t care where the source is, and I tell him that too. It’s wrong.”
Collins then made a false equivalence between his son-in-law’s hateful messaging and Michigan Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed and left-wing streamer Hasan Piker, complaining that Ossoff had not condemned either.
Ossoff’s response: “Imagine running for the U.S. Senate while neo-Nazi propaganda is disseminated to an audience of millions from your home. That’s Mike Collins.”

politics @lemmy.world•Pete Hegseth vows to make first firing squad execution in decades ‘public’
22·5 days agoMy argument is about the overall striving as a people and a nation, evidenced by a trail of admittedly flawed and leaky legislation whose heart I believe is in fact in the right place. It feels apparent that power sticks its foot in the jamb to hold the door ajar just enough for itself on almost every attempt to make progress.
I concede that US history is horribly marred and shameful, and it behooves us to honor that by not forgetting that past.

72·5 days agoI’d argue that in spite of the feckless of attempts, that the US on aggregate has strived to move away from that violent past, but the full throated nature of this sort of thing definitely feels “traditional” in that sense.
