A lot of the long/short press stuff is configurable and gesture based (swiping left and right) is the fast way to interact. Which I was using the swiping on sync. Also configurable.

My interpretation is a visualization of SSH as a transport protocol. You say hey SSH, send this message to this remote computer. And SSH goes to that computer and authenticates with a key, then enters your commands. In this case ‘ls’. Then ssh takes the output of that command, in this case the contents of the directory, and brings it back to you.

Truenas scale with truecharts makes all this fairly easy to get going. You don’t even really need to understand kubernetes all that well. I use traefik for ingress and just set up a bunch of dns aliases so I don’t have to remember port numbers
