countrypunk@slrpnk.netto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Would you enter a relationship with someone with genital herpes?0·2 months agoAs some one who was also raised religious, I relate to this hard. Sex feels really scary, but at the same time it’s something I’m really curious about. Any tips for dealing with that feeling?
Ehhhhh, this is not standard in all places. If someone asks me how I am I will answer honestly but vaguely. “Living the dream, I’ve been better, meh, good, pretty good.” It’s common for other people to answer the same way, too. The part that’s not as socially acceptable is to go into detail about it if you don’t know the people well/people don’t have follow up questions about it.

Agreed about the frequent field trips. It’s more important to get out than people think, plus it helps people realize learning isn’t just for in the classroom.
Sure does. Agree wholeheartedly

countrypunk@slrpnk.netOPto Solarpunk@slrpnk.net•How do you envision a postal system in a solarpunk world, both on a small scale and larger one?3·2 years agoA carrier pigeon seems outdated and unreliable. There are important things such as medication that would need to be reliably delivered to people.
Could you elaborate on what a point express is? A quick Google search didn’t get me any helpful english-language answers.
countrypunk@slrpnk.netto Solarpunk@slrpnk.net•What would you like to see in a rural solarpunk village2·2 years agoOkay so something that’s slowly dying in rural America is the presence of specialty stores and craftspeople. Before dollar general and Walmart killed most of it, there were separate/mom n’ pop bakeries, pharmacies, blacksmiths (we could modernize that concept with a technological repair person to fix broken or malfunctioning parts), and tractor/feed supplies. Some of these still exist in rural America obviously but they are declining. Bring back specialization and apprenticeship.
In the center of your village could be a decently sized community garden, with small greenhouses scattered throughout. It acts sort of like a central park or courtyard. Also, rooftop gardens!
Maybe some sort of outdoor community center?
Southern food has entered the chat.
In all seriousness, southern food is some of the best food the US has to offer IMO. There’s a shitton of diversity within the category and it has a lot of flavor and spice.
