Huawei has made it impossible to unlock your bootloader, thus flashing other ROMs doesn’t work now.

If you dislike the stock OS, or find it too bloated, you can flash LineageOS anytime. Most of the OnePluses are supported. It’s a way better experience than any stock Android imho.

I used it personally, though with friends, not in large groups. It’s rather good, but it depends on the instance you use. If you decide to selfhost, the better. There’s also Element Calls now, you might want to check that out too.
