  • They would 100% never let files with Trump’s name in it out. This is going to absolutely backfire on the Democrats when the Republicans inevitably release a doctored list with all their political enemies on it. This is so much better for the Dems when the files are a big MacGuffin. Even if by some miracle they did release the actual list and Trump was on it, they would say it was a witch hunt by the corrupt Biden administration and MAGA would eat it up. There will never be legal consequences for any of them, ever. If they ever do get consequences it will be because of some brave Luigi.

  • Totally, thank you. Star Trek is goofy as hell sometimes. I think if the Kelpian kid had been a plot device isolated to a single episode, no one would have batted an eye if it were on TNG or VOY. But as the reveal of a season long mystery, it was a big woof for a season and a concept that I was really into.

That said, season 4 really picked up that briefly dropped ball. I think the last two episodes of S4, plus the one with the debate at Federation HQ, will go down as Trek classics once Disco ages a bit.

  • I’ve seen people suggest adding alcohol, but I think the idea is to simulate that Klingon coffee would have a sharpness or bite to it, rather than assuming that raktajino on the show would actually have alcohol. I played around with some recipes for fun and I actually mixed a few together and found something pretty delicious. I mix Turkish coffee, a small amount of whipped milk, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, and a little honey.

  • Knowing a few people who have worked on series that ended up looking for new networks, I feel pretty confident that for zillions of reasons (both legal and promotional) they would never have shown this footage if it wasn’t basically a done deal –– this is just marketing to see us go bananas over the Doctor before they reveal the streaming deal. Which –– I could not believe it when I woke up this morning because I was totally sure all the “new home” stuff was entirely wishful thinking and that Prodigy was fully dead.

  • I wish this had been addressed, but I feel like it would be easy to see Fleet Formation as a response to both the PRO and LD incidents. If you have a ship that’s compromised (like the Protostar or one of the Texas class ships), Fleet Formation lets you immediately deprive that ship (or any other infected ships) of autonomy by locking it into a unidirectional control from Starbase One. If it really can override anything else, that would mean that in the event of a Living Construct or whatever, Starfleet could just lock everything in Fleet Formation and the ending of PRO would never happen. But I guess they didn’t anticipate a threat coming from inside Starfleet.
