  • While I am responsible with my own trash and sorting out plastics, paper, metal, glass, haven’t flown anywhere for over ten years, try to buy either quality and long lasting or second hand or both and am childfree that I try to remember that the only way to change course is through policy changes, politics and stricter rules - what I do in my own household doesn’t amount to anything noticeable except make me feel less guilty.
The main risk in my area is ground water levels being way below normal, so if it continues my own well might go dry every summer. Other than that I imagine we will have climate refugees coming this way in the future.

Except for voting I’m not active in politics and instead focus on my own life and making the best of it - both in the now and in the next five and ten years. I’m saving money for old age too, so I guess I still hold some hope.

I try to limit myself o read the news once a day and I don’t follow any non-tech news-related communities on lemmy. That in combination with gardening, DIYs, exercise and limiting screen time helps my mental health a lot.

  • After reading your other responses in this thread it sounds like your culture is vastly different from mine.
The fact that you mention providing alternate housing for an ex, that would be her own responsibility where I’m from, and the fact that you decided to still live together while seeing others are plain weird to me.
I’d say a first step would be to have them meet each other with you there and then having brunch or something on their own. If either can’t stand the other then it’s not gonna work after all.

I find it’s pretty much all the same, whether it is qotom, topton, minisforum, cwwk or beelink.
When they work, they work. When they don’t then their support/warranty doesn’t either is my experience.

I would probably go for a refurbished hp elite/pro mini or lenovo m tiny if I was gonna set my parents up with a small and efficient desktop for some reason.

I think what those admins really mean to say is “We don’t need any of the benefits of IPv6, so IPv4 works just fine and making the large scale change is trouble.”, when you already got your DHCP, NAT, Firewall and stuff up and things do work as expected then you don’t really need NDP or SLAAC.
