Pretty sure I’m at least a third of them.
Yes, but hiring someone who’s good at making for-profit “services” successful generally means you want your product to be for-profit.
And as you say, successful for-profit companies are often menaces.
Giving an avenue for rich development companies to snatch up properties they can short-term rent to rich travelers is a useful service?
Only for people who don’t pay dues to the Donald Trump fan club. Which is pretty much just prospective Biden voters.
Remember remember the eighteenth of November.
That’s entirely the point. Instead of small problems that are consistent and easy to ignore, it was a singular event that’s much easier to focus on. That’s why so many politicians used it as an opportunity to consolidate power and enact draconian legal protections.
9/11 wasn’t just “bad thing happen” it was “big bad to distract from small bad”.
Because Economy is a code-word for assets of the capital class.
Oddly enough you can do things with other people even if you’re not necessarily the same as those people.
Organizing a boycott of one is just not eating there.
The customer always served the corporation, they just used to hide it better.
Well as soon as I can get a fission reactor in my house I’ll give up on energy independence then.
Blaming Trump for them being something they’ve always been minimizes their contribution to the enshitification of the country.
What is with peoples insistence that we only ever use one kind of power generation?
Wind, solar, fusion, fission, hydro, they all have their uses. Why limit yourself like some kind of console fanboy?
Democracy is slow. It takes time, and more importantly coordination, to work properly. It’s only dead if you decide to stop showing up to vote, if you stop sharing your views, if you decide thought and discussion aren’t worth it anymore.
Deflation is only bad because companies hold their employees (and customers) hostage to their profit ideal.
The main thing that’s always touted as the main bad thing about deflation is that people are less inclined to spend money.
I don’t know about you, but most of my money goes to essentials that I’m not going to just stop paying for. The only people that are going to stop spending money are the precious few with large disposable incomes.
We had that, Mario 3, and Marble Madness. I never got more than a few levels into any of them.
Trump is in no way a leader for the people who actually run things in the GoP. He’s just a convenient scapegoat and distraction. A tool to be used to further their own agendas without getting their hands as dirty.
They’re not following Trump for shit. Trump is a symptom, not a cause. They were bought and sold long before he “won” the 2016 election.
Yes? If we attribute to Biden what is not a matter of Biden’s actions, we ignore the true source.
Personally I prefer to know how things work and not just trust in higher authorities to just instinctively do what’s best for me.
If it keeps making them money, why wouldn’t they?
Whether or not we dislike the decisions doesn’t really factor in.
Assuning thats normally for hotels and such, not as easily, no. AirBnB’s specific purpose is to remove barriers of entry for hosting people in your property. Initially that meant renting one of your rooms to a traveler on the cheap. Now it means companies that would otherwise have to jump through tons of regulatory hoops to put their properties on booking sites.
Not to mention… even if its the same, then its the same and still not a useful service, yeah? It’s just another booking service. Which, coincidentally, mostly extracts fees.
