There is an iOS/macOS app called “Pi-hole Remote” that can manage multiple PiHole instances at once. I use that because it will make changes on both instances at once for me.

Other than that, I log in to each device and copy paste.

These contracts do not stipulate reimbursement for lost revenue. The “uptime guarantee” just gets you a partial discount or service refund for the impacted services.

It is on the customer to architect their environment for high availability (use multiple regions or even multiple hyperscalers, depending on the uptime need).

I’ve tried both Unraid and TrueNAS. While I greatly prefer TrueNAS, Unraid is much easier to set up and get going for beginners. It’s been a while since I’ve set up TrueNAS from scratch, but last I tried, it wasn’t a very beginner friendly experience. If you weren’t already familiar with ZFS, you were in for a pretty difficult time.

I’ve never used your exact setup, but I have had issues with a web server behind a WAF not getting the client IP (all user traffic was shown as the WAF IP). In my case, the WAF was appending the client IP in a header, and I just had to tell web app to use that header as the client IP instead of the actual IP. Again, not sure if this helps since I have never used podman or caddy (this setup was with Wordpress and an Azure Application Gateway) but the same principles might apply.

I previously had a QNAP, and they honestly aren’t much better than Synology. I would definitely go the build your own route. For the OS, I really can’t recommend TrueNAS more. I’ve been using it for years and it is rock solid.

They mention in the post that other apps are coming soon. If they start letting you self host Protect, that will be huge. When they killed off Video, the only way to get their cameras to work was to buy their hardware that could run Protect. I was shocked when they allowed you to use 3rd party cameras in Protect.

What’s the difference between the two? Reading the GitHub for meshcore, it sounds exactly like meshtastic. What makes it better?

Wonder if this will make it playable on Steam Deck. I would love to play this on my Deck, but performance is so bad.

That is what I ended up doing temporarily, but I think I will just make it temporarily permanent. I could likely set up another Docker container to run a DNS server connected to a DoH resolver, and use that container as the DNS server for Traefik, but that’s a lot of work.

I own 3 different domains and just today set up SSL services for them using Traefik (made another post for an issue I’m having with that).

I ended up doing a subnet router and that got me what I was looking for.

Did some more testing to get some details. The error I am getting from Traefik is that Cloudflare cannot create the record because it already exists (PiHole already has the entries). If I delete the records from PiHole, Traefik can then create the TXT records in Cloudflare.

That is almost the exact same thing I am doing. I have 2 Pi’s running PiHole in HA and I just made one of them the subnet router to allow this access. Since I will be the only one using this, I don’t care to use Funnel right now, but thanks for showing that to me. I am (obviously) new to using Tailscale, and that looks like a very neat feature.

I set that up, but the issue now is that my DNS server is replying back with the private IP, which is not accessible from tailscale.

EDIT: Figured this one out. Need to advertise the routes from one of my machines. Set that up and I am good to go now. Thanks!

We are an enterprise manufacturing company. We have lots of hosts on process networks not connected to the internet. Seems like the subscription license won’t be compatible, so we plan to seriously look at Proxmox for those in the coming years as we replace hosts.

For our datacenter, we decided to move everything to Azure. This decision was in the works before the license change, but the acquisition by Broadcom and their track record certainly played a part in the conversation.

For our site hosts, we are looking into Azure HCI or possibly Hyper-V, especially since these sites don’t have many VM’s and don’t need features offered by VMware.

I also had this issue after I finally got my AirPods paired to my steam deck. What fixes it for me is after launching the game, open the Steam menu, go to Settings, and change the output device to the built in speakers, then back to the AirPods.

I had the same issue with mine, also in an airport. I ended up renaming them from my iPhone and was then able to pair them.

Edit to add: I thought pairing them from desktop mode may give me better luck, but it actually made things worse for some reason. Even after renaming them, I wasn’t able to pair them in desktop mode. Immediately after switching back to gaming mode, I was able to pair them.

+1 for Veeam. I am a backup administrator and this is our tool of choice. I use it for my home machines as well and it works great.

Just remember, you don’t have a backup unless you have tested it.

I’ve had Sey and enjoyed it as well! Verve sounds familiar, so I might have had it before.

Just did some testing. While playing a game and pulling 22w, the battery says about 4 hours. While playing a game with a partially depleted battery pulling the full 40w, it says 2hrs.

If you limit the power you will obviously be able to stretch it quite a bit. Overall, quite a bit of extra playtime.

I have been getting my beans from Fellow Drops for about a year or so now. I haven’t had a single bad bag from them, and I am always getting to try new things. Their bags can be a bit more pricey, but so far I would say it is worth the price.

My two favorite bags I’ve gotten from them so far have been from Onyx. Their stuff is expensive, but damn is it good.
