Make sure you edit the username in both files and follow the instructions for setting up mpd and creating the required configs. The Arch Wiki gives a good rundown.

I have a build of dwm that uses Polybar, it took me so long to get Polybar and dwm all set up, and I ended up preferring the standard bar with slstatus.

I have recently been permanently hiding the bar and going barless.

Really nice. I like your top bar.
